really?? care to explain.

1. regime-change attempts that started parallel to the "arab spring"... from ( Staged Opposition Violence in Venezuela. Towards a “Colored Revolution”? | Global Research )...
Violent opposition groups attacked government buildings and civilians, and clashed with police and government supporters following peaceful marches commemorating the Day of Youth.

Venezuela commemorates the day of the youth on 12 February each year in memory of the role of young people in the decisive independence battle in La Victoria in 1814. Today marked the bicentenary of the historic battle.

western bloc hijacks a government promoted event to provoke riots and government crackdowns and then escalations of that until a national crisis happens... and that is what has happened until now.

2. from ( The Wake Up Project - View topic - Nicolas Sarkozy ordered the assassination of Hugo Chavez )...
The Venezuelan Minister of Correctional Services, Iris Varela, has announced on her Twitter account the expulsion of a French citizen known as Frédéric Laurent Bouquet, December 29, 2012

Mr. Bouquet (photo) had been arrested in Caracas on June 18, 2009, with three Dominican nationals in possession of an arsenal. In the apartment he had acquired, forensic police seized 500 grams of C4 explosives, 14 assault rifles including 5 with telescopic lenses, 5 with laser sighting and one with a silencer, special cables, 11 electronic detonators, 19,721 cartridges of different calibers, 3 machine guns, 4 hand guns of different calibers, 11 radios, 3 walkie talkies and a radio base, five 12-gauge shotguns, 2 bulletproof vests, 7 military uniforms, 8 grenades, one gas mask, one combat knife and 9 bottles of gunpowder.

During his trial, Mr. Bouquet admitted he had been trained in Israel and was an agent of French military intelligence service (DGSE). He admitted planning an attack to assassinate Constitutional President Hugo Chavez.

Mr. Bouquet had been sentenced to four years in prison for "illegal possession of weapons." He served his sentence. He was taken from his cell by Ordinance No. 096-12 of trial judge Yulismar Jaime, then was expelled for "undermining national security" under Article 39 paragraph 4 of the Migration and Foreigners Act.

Venezuelan authorities had so far refrained from communicating on this subject. The facts were confirmed by the spokesman of the Quai d’Orsay, Philippe Lalliot. The French Embassy in Caracas declined to comment.

From our investigation we can conclude that:
(1) President Nicolas Sarkozy had ordered the assassination of his counterpart Hugo Chavez;
(2) the operation was a fiasco;
(3) France granted substantial compensation to stifle this matter during Mr Sarkozy’s term in office.

How can that be wasted when China military claim a foothold in South America if Venezuela can't repaid? Its called strategic investment.
In the US military, we have something call 'TDY' -- temporary duty. I have been on quite a few myself. A TDY can last a few days or even months.

A PLA TDY to Venezuela does not qualify as a 'foothold'. We are talking about at least something the Soviets tried with Cuba.

.
You must be thankful of iran who led china into another misadventure in south america , it was the iranian oil money first , then came the chinese loan

.
Lol, Iranian are the most clueless ppl on this planet.

.
I hope the Chinese don't burn themselves 10 Billion is a huge amount

Well our currency reserves are currently around $4 trillion, as much as the rest of the world combined.

And Venezuela has the largest oil reserves on Earth. They can always pay us back with oil, and they have plenty.

You are being tricked , gold reserves mean nothing , paper and electronic money are everything , and if the US defaults on its own debt nothing happens , china ain't a superpower

Of course China is still a developing country, as our leaders have said countless times already.

As for the rest, you're just trolling, and you're making it way too obvious.

Reality is a b!tch...

Venezuela - Analysis - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)
Venezuela’s conventional crude oil is heavy and sour by international standards. As a result, much of Venezuela’s oil production must go to specialized domestic and international refineries. The country’s most prolific production area is the Maracaibo basin, which contains slightly less than half of Venezuela’s oil production. Many of Venezuela's fields are mature, requiring large investments to maintain current capacity.
Even China does not want to use Orinoco crude other than for highly specialized purposes that does not require a lot of refinement. So in the past, whenever China bought Venezuelan crude, Chinese tankers just made a short run northward to the US and sold it to US refiners who can handle Venezuelan sour crude. One day will come when even China's generosity will not be enough as China is obligated to look out for her own finances and will drop support for Venezuela.

It won't be that easy...if you think oil for money.

And more over the way Chinese government is wasting its reserves by giving loans to countries that are not credit worthy only to gain soft power may prove to be dangerous to Chinese economy. I think majority of loans will be defaulted.

it's going to take at least a $100 billion investment to get the crude China needs out of Venezuela.
and China has better safer options to do that in Africa via Angola,Nigeria.

for a country and region that is so anti-imperalist they have no problem selling their future to China.

ehh I agree with U.S wanting to take down Gaddafi and I guess we would wanted that to happen to Chavez as wekk, but we didn't need to do a thing in Venezuela

. Chavez and friends screwed their entire economy up. crime is rampant, corruption is rampant. shortages of the most basic goods are common. U.S couldn't do all these things.

they blew one of the greatest oil bonanza in history, and what do they got to show for it?

i have written to you before of the government transformation of venezuela into decentralized direct-democracy communes on the lines of libyan jamahiriya, and also about the "urban farming" initiatives of the government.

but this is not what is publicized on western government-guided media or in those international media taking directions from those western media... what is publicized is just the security situation.

maybe you should take a tour of venezuela and walk with government officers and do a impartial thread on pdf. :)

The Reliance refinery in India ,Gujarat can handle the crude of orinoco with ease. A number of shipments from orinoco are bought by Reliance which can handle virtually all kinds of crude oil from super heavy to super light. Also Sinopec is upgrading its refineries for the same/

it's going to take at least a $100 billion investment to get the crude China needs out of Venezuela.

Like how USA has destroyed Chinese investments in Sudan? Venezuala is safer and the de-dollarisation process is underway.
