Valentine's day is Haraam.
Its full of immorality, getting a girlfriend, full of nonsense.

Valentine's day is retarded.http://nation.com.pk/islamabad/09-Feb-2017/court-issues-notice-to-interior-ministry
These are the kind of judges we have in Islamabad High Court. Those who think that Rasheed Qazi was murdered by Musharraf.
Another gem from the same court

Taking up a complete non-issue to score some brownie points. Valentine's Day is lame anyways, best way to limit the "activities" is to make it seem uncool.
its not a curve ball, a genuine question considering how things work in India... not sure about pakistan but I suspect not much different.Attempting to throw in a curve ball I see ... FYI You can have conversations to get to know each other in presence of a third party. As far as getting to know the character of a girl/ guy, hate to break it to ya buddy ... but even in the dating scene, when you have a couple living together for 2-3 years and then the dude proposes to the girl. Countries where this is the basic concept behind love and relationships ... it still generates high divorce rates e.g. 70 odd percent in the US, which is mostly filed by the females and the usual premise of the reasoning is .. "he changed" "he wasn't who I thought he was" "he/she cheated" .... People can mask their character for years, and when they start to take each other for granted, only then do their true colors show.
In addition, you have to look at it holistically. In tight knit communities, people usually know each other, their characters and the sort of life they live, their reputation as a family etc. In Pakistan, you can ask the old timers here, the process of researching out potential candidates for their daughters and sons. I've personally seen a family request a relative who was a university professor to ask around about a guy who had studied in his university. People usually go to relatives and the people they know, living in communities near to where the guy or gal who proposed lives, to ask around and stuff. Those are I guess the ideal conditions. An other check includes the responsibilities given to men and women respectively. A third check would be the elders who serve as problem solvers if a problem arises in the relationship.
As far as parents/ elders/ mediums having the happiness of the guy and the gal as their primary objective ... Well it's literally their responsibility. You have to remember, in a nikkah, you are asked aloud, if you want to marry that person, and you have to say YES three times. So alot of checks and balances are there. So alot of checks and balances are put in place which protect both the guy and the gal ...
Valentine's day is retarded.
Say no to Liberal culture.
They like competition only in the economics.
That stopped all them liberals!!! ... I'm sure of it ... On a serious note ... these types of posts are what I hate most about the conservatives. In the market place of ideas, it is equivalent to the "yahoodi sazish" argument .. If you don't agree with something, state your reasons for the disagreement and state your alternative solution/ ideology which you think is a better option.
Fair point, I should have been more specific.Well speakers are not an Islamic tradition too, so why not ban it and do the call to prayer according to Islamic tradition by manually?
Agreed with you 100%!Good move to ban this Western festival, which is affecting the Muslim youth by not understanding it's consequences and impact on their lives.
Agreed with you 100%!
Say no to Valentine's day!

Say no to girlfriends/boyfriends!
