How bad is the news that a single Sukhoi-30 has successfully dodged four or five AIM-120C-5 BVRAAMs, for the USAF and NATO?

That article is complete nonsense.

Firstly, AMRAAMs miss all the time for plenty of reasons. Sometimes it’s simply pilot error. I’ve shot plenty of missiles in training that would not have hit due to my own buffoonery, and it had nothing to do with enemy capabilities.

Secondly, it’s very common to shoot missiles that were never intended to hit. Take an example of defending something on the ground (which was exactly what was going on here). I might say “hey, if the bad guy gets within X miles I’m going to shoot.” Now, if that bad guy keeps flying straight ahead he’ll die, but if he says “oh, hey, someone shot at me” and turns around the missile will miss. Additionally the bad guy won’t bomb his target, his mission will be a loss, mine will be a win, and that’ll be fine. I suppose that bad guy could turn around and say “I dodged an AMRAAM” but that’s pretty stupid.

Lastly, that article says

“Indian Su-30MKI deployed a combination of Jammers, Flares and Superior maneuverability of the aircraft to outclass the chasing missiles in a matter of few seconds of them begin fired by F-16.”

Flares are an infrared countermeasure. AMRAAMs are radar missiles. If someone tells you they defeated an AIM-120 with a flare they’re just stupid. As far as jammers and maneuverability that makes no sense. If you actually jam the missiles “in a matter of few seconds of them begin fired” then you don’t need to maneuver, they just won’t guide. If you need to maneuver then you probably aren’t jamming effectively, so this entire sentence is idiotic.

1- The article specifically says

“jam their radar lock making them from a guided missile to unguided rocket which not only lost its target but also crashed without taking out any target”

and

“was also successful in making them a dud rocket by active jamming in the air”

in which case maneuvers should be irrelevant.

2- I have no idea what you’re getting at with the flare thing. I train to active missile defense on a daily basis and flares have no bearing on radar missiles.

If what you’re trying to say is “they flared because they didn’t know if it was an active missile or an IR missile” then fine, but in that case claiming that flares were used to “outclass the chasing missiles” is stupid. Just say “we wasted some flares because we don’t know what we’re doing.”

Bottom line: whoever wrote that is at best a complete moron, and at worst just nakedly dishonest.

Where you will never win against Indian Media is the sheer level of stupidity.

Until 27 Feb 2019 Su-30MKI was Master of skies in Asia,a single would have been able to destroy a Division of PA tanks,A Sq of F-16 and would have been able to sink whole of PN.That were fantasies of PDF and Internet Bhartis.
After 27 Feb 2019
Their PM openly said,If Rafale would have been here story would have been different,so Su-30MKI in nutshell proved itself a piece of Junk according to Indians.

P.S Su 30MKI is a great platform.

lol and not just rick scheffs answer every other answer was calling that a indian propaganda which was funny and moronic.

.
Obviously a fake Indian troll account claiming to be a USAF pilot :)

. . .
Do remember we have had some Indian posters dismiss world respected physicists (Pakistan’s warhead yield) because they didn’t like it. A pilot won’t make a difference to such idiots.

A lot of bakth posters appraising their airforces arsenal are not visible anymore! Their absence can be felt after almost 2 decades of listening to their hyper superiority in xyz.

From article:

"IAF recently has confirmed that nearly 4 to 5 AIM-120C-5 American beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM) were fired at an single Indian Sukhoi-30MKI aircraft from fleeing F-16, which not only successfully evaded them but also managed to jam their radar lock making them from a guided missile to unguided rocket which not only lost its target but also crashed without taking out any target."

Only in India can a fleeing plane shoot missiles at it's pursuer

Exactly. I have certainly never heard of a fleeing aircraft firing five radar guided missiles with it's radar pointed in the opposite direction!

.
Bollywood dance was done and using special Shakti the "salvos" of AMRAAMs were dodged. Credible

He absolutely rused and destroyed the entire IAF top leadership. Haha.

Liars exposed.

Also, his answer is collapsed by moderation which is such bs, quora also getting infested by salty indians.
