Why do we continue to involve US in the current issue? I know politicians love to bring up US because it's arouses people's emotions but is there any proof out there or any hint at all that the US is behind this?

And don't bring up that Q and A session at state department.

There is no foreign conspiracy other than the UK providing a platform for the politicians the world over. Well, that the UK's tolerant traditions dating back centuries. Didn't they provide a platform to even Karl Marx in 19th century even though Marx stood against the very 'capitalist' system?

As to IK being worried, I wish this Prince had ever had to worry about anything in his life. It's Pakistan's biggest tragedy at the moment where a person as insulated, as protected and as immune from his actions is trying to call the shots. We have covered IK's highest level of immunity in other threads. Even your own Prince Rahul Gandhi at least lives in constant fear for his very life. But not our Prince...

US' attention is currently elsewhere.

They could care less what happens in PK. But if asked, they will support the status quo being that it's the easiest answer to give.

This forum is here to report, critique and debate, so you did fine.

I don't buy Aslam Baig's logic. And what is very disappointing is that a former Army Chief--a guy who had the best access to Pakistan's secrets and nukes--can be so casual and irresponsible. Gives you a dark perspective about the quality of both civilian and military leadership of Pakistan.

PS. USA will impose 'democracy-related' sanctions anytime, now and in the future, against Pakistan because that's the overt policy of American govt: Toppling of civilian govt with coups will have some, even if symbolic, sanctions.

I don't know how you can reject something which is proven back in history. In Wars time, USA Government works with army well as compare to Political government.

What is JH saying? Please give me a quote? My understanding is that he blaming retired officials and possibly some retiring officials but not the military high command/COAS.

I am with @A.M. on this: The foreign powers would be interested in a status quo so that the NATO withdrawl, the post withdrawl, and counter terrorism cooperation keep going ahead--and that Pakistan doesn't implode. I don't think they could care less so long as those major objectives are met.

Pakistanis--or specifically a small segment of losers led by Imran Khan--are doing a fine job destroying the country from within. If I were an Indian, I'd say: More Power to you Mr. Imran Khan! (with apologies to those Indians who have given some sane advice on this forum).
