I dont know the price but after the meeting btw Kiyani and US govt and military officials before 30 mins Ahmed mukhtar Defence minister said in press that US increased the price of our old F16s and Cobra Gunship and now Pakistan is not capable to buy both....

I am not sure, I am following this completly. Which deal is getting impacted here, I think you already Purchased F16 right, or it is that deal which is impacting. I will appreciate if someone can help.

why not go for New J 10 and about cobra i think pakistan go for Tiger gunship if the prize of old cobra is near to new tiger helicopter

Any ways PAF had plans to buy 26 old ones...now if the newz is true thenwould they will but them (I guess)

we get the old ones as EDA only transportation and upgrades are paid for. These kind of news originate when you have a Mochi as your defense minister.

WASHINGTON: Federal Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar called on Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at Pentagon, Geo News reported Saturday.

Ahmed Mukhtar, on the occasion, thanked the US officials for announcing defence package for Pakistan.

Also, he raised with them the issue relating the inflated prices of F-16 aircrafts. Reacting to this, Robert Gates said he would take personal interest into the matter.

US Defence Secretary thanked Ahmed Mukhtar for hosting US soldiers who visited Pakistan to extend succor to the flood-afflicted people.

Mukhtar stressed that Pakistan Army and the people of Pakistan are jointly battling against terrorists; accordingly, their intentions should not be called in question.
