I think it's time for Pakistan to get tough, real tough on the Americans

With 110 billion investment already on the ground, Pakistan can afford to be nonchalant if not tough to ruffle the US feathers. With China by its side at the UNSC, Pakistan has enough leverage.

China, OIC.. as far as Russia is concern we may never have strong relations with Russia but the current position of Russia on Afghanistan is more acceptable for Pakistan.we can cooperate on Afghanistan along with China..

Pakistan should concentrate on improving relations with GCC especially.. GCC have trump and likes in pocket as of now..

even if Russia accept us as ally, it will cost us possible sanctions.

There's a catch-22 here.

Pakistan moves closer to Russia/China, USA takes a tough stand.
Washington takes a tough stand, Islamabad has no choice but to look towards Beijing and/or Moscow.

Though, it certainly appears that the "marriage of convenience" lasting around almost seventy years is about to result in a bitter divorce. And Pakistan wouldn't necessarily be at disadvantage if it can play its cards right.
But the question is will Pentagon do this Hara-kiri? Can they really afford to lose Pak while China is on surge?

I don't expect rational thinking or logical decision making from Mr. Trump. He's like a little child whom fate has been extremely kind to, one which believes completely in "the heart wants, what the heart wants" and possessed by an ego, the size of cathedrals. I wouldn't be surprised if Pentagon moves forward with this one.

Russians have no use for pakistan
The only problem is that Russians don't seem to follow that line of thinking, as most Indians here do and they are the ones relevant to the whole discussion. Look at the trajectory of Moscow-Islamabad for the past decade or so, our friends at the Politburo have been more receptive of the Pakistani message lately, not to mention willing to work for more co-operation and deeper relations between the two countries and offering weapons (overtly/covertly) every now and then. The reasons are a combination of desiring a positive outcome of the war in Afghanistan, stability and peace in the Russian backyard - the Central Asian states and access to CPEC.

And if you say, that is not true. Check how many high level visits have taken place since '07, the number and nature of important agreements signed, the co-operation on various projects, endorsement of Pakistani bid for SCO, proposed and/or executed sale of weapons (despite the Russian ambassador to India's statement as how his face should be spit on, if someone can proof that Russia sells weapons to India's enemies) and military exercises/war games (despite India's strong opposition) between former enemies. Better yet, visit the Russia-Pakistan relations page on the Wikipedia, to see the developments chronologically.

Do you know something more and better than the Kremlin?

I have been saying this for a very time now & I will say this again. Pakistan should get closer to China which they are & at the same time work something out with Russia.

Pakistan should do everything necessary to get away from US & they should only think about national interests.

Clearly US has sidelined Afghan & Indian terrorism partnership against us & they are financing terrorism against Pakistan & has only blamed Pakistan for something which we are not doing, instead we are fighting Indian & Afghani sponsored terrorism. So its clear that they want to create more trouble for us & for that US has asked India to intervene even more in Afghanistan & at the same time have barked against Pakistan.

It is time for Pakistan to shut down that so called US Embassy which in reality is a fortress of trouble against Pakistan.

The saddest part over here is, we don't have a Government in our country & these politicians are only worried for their corrupt power & seat. All this is only harming Pakistan.

Pakistan benefited from US largess. You could have gotten more. To the degree you got in trouble it is your own fault - grandeur and delusion of your own elite still on vivid display on PDF

Whatever Pakistan benefited wasn't free of cost. We gave back in blood what they gave to us in cash/material. No other nation has destroyed their society on behalf of Uncle Sam while still being confused about it's foreign policy goals.

Look at Russia's ties with Indonesia, Iran, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Like Pakistan they were on opposite side of the cold war versus Soviet Union. They have much improved relationships with Russia. Despite being on opposite sides on Syria Russia sold the turks S-400. Even after Turks shot down Russian aircraft.

You can name all the high level visits you want. Putin has not shown up in Pakistan. He has made 70 trips in the last 5 years including 3 to India. For all the talk of defense co-operation Pakistan has bought 4 Mi-35 attack choppers for $150 million.

Russia's relationship with Pakistan can improve. In the short run it will be dwarfed by their ties with India.

Here is an indiot who knows everything
Russia has closer relationships with a lot of Muslim countries than Pakistan ever will

.
There's a huge difference, there. They may have been on the opposite sides of the USSR back then, but we were directly involved in fighting against them in Afghanistan. Keeping that in mind, the Russia-Pakistan have improved considerably in-spite of all the historical bad blood.

So, if the Russians have no use for Islamabad as per you and dealing with our country negatively impacts their relations with India, why make an effort to improve ties and pursue co-operation with Pakistan? Putin did show up, have a look at the page.

Russians sell Su-35s to Indonesia, S-400s to Turkey (a NATO member), protect Iran in Security Council & Syria and work with Saudis on oil prices. The key point is that there is money to be made, core interests at stake and no baggage with those countries (Iran being an exception).

there are six trips to India in 17 years
