US to allow direct flight access to Pakistan

I have traveled on Turkish airline several times from Toronto. Turkish 777 has very nice seats with big high resolution screens carrying a huge selection of entertainment.

They also provide menu in economy class. I think all airlines on North America routes fly their premium product. Its North American schedules which dictate flying seasons and its where they make most money.

What I appreciate about Turkish airline is how big their network is. If you fly to new Istanbul airport, you will realize what I m saying. Turkey does not have as much money as Gulf states have but Turkey has done very well for its airline. Its something to be proud of.

As for PIA, it recently had its direct service cancelled to Sydney, Australia despite getting all clearances. Its the same issue flying to USA.

You may or may not agree. But the decisions we took under Musharraf to join American war and became their slaves doing their dirty work, has put the stigma of terrorism on us. This will take time to wash away. Bajwa is a very stupid army chief but if there is a mechanism in army to learn from mistakes, I hope he does not decide to join their war again for a few dollars, scholarships or military training courses.

i remember one conversation where they were saying
we will double out b777 order from benefits of direct access to american markets followed by fta and other goodie’s lol
imagine if they hd went europian way early on and be done with it

Hi,

Some people may not like these comments.

By this time---possibly the US had pakistan by the ballz---. A Q KHAN's outside sales information had come out.

Boeing would not let a previous customer go to the competition just like that.

Possibly one thing led to another and slowly pakistan lost the opportunity to buy the Airbus first, then the Rafales / mirages then the scorpene---under extreme duress.

It was back in 2009 and I had forgotten. I was initially going to say 13 too but then I was like wait that seems too short. Anyways I liked that flight because I hate stops.
Seems short? Direct flight from Lahore to London is 9ish hrs. 8 30 from Abu Dhabi.
I went in 2014. It doesn’t include taxing from the gate to the runways or official flight departure/arrival times. I just started the stopwatch as soon as the plane was rolling down on the runway and stopped it as it landed at Lahore. Give it take up to a minute to account for moving across the runway on both ends.

There is no fixing pakistan
Why?
Because pakistanis are confused what kinda system they want.

Pakistanis still arent sure whether they want capatislism or communism or islam or some other system

IK may have given a directuon but his polcies didnt had support and hence he couldnt implemwnt those.
It’s partially true.

There needs to be an agreed upon long term national strategy; at least to get us to 2047/2050. We don’t want to be like Argentina forever, especially as we have a window of opportunity to turn it around with our demographic dividend and the possible “opening up” of Afghanistan to mineral extraction under CPEC and hopefully other initiatives. A lot of dams coming on line by the end of the decade. IK had ideas, some of which didn’t get implemented as they would definitely disadvantage the people who have built their wealth on the status quo. We need the political will to (convince them) see that the pie can be grown and even those people would benefit more so, then continuing business as usual.

This has the feeling of just another feel good tweet to get some PR, let's hope I am wrong.

There has been no decision yet, and not as the title implies. There is just a visit scheduled to assess improvements in airport security that would be needed to permit direct flights. The problem has never been the PIA planes or USA, but the lax attitudes towards airport security in Pakistan. It is 100% on Pakistan to fix this issue, if it wants to do so.
