US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo meets PM Imran in Islamabad

Few observations:

He only shook hand with Pompeo while ignoring the rest , its only when pointed by SMQ, he went to to shake hands with Dunford and David Hale while completely ignoring that Afghan prick, Zalmy HARAMzad.

ISI chief was in the meeting. Hope he showed some FACTS on yanks faces.

Meeting was strictly following the protocol with IK dominating the agenda.

Now compare this with the meeting he had with Iranian FM few days ago.

Very casual and hardly any protocol with Iranian FM sitting at same level as IK.

Message has been send. Now yanks can bark all they want while in India. :D
I must say the optics are indeed intriguing. Looks like homework was done.

Nope they did not had any discussion on the sidelines indian media is bull shit. I was the first person in whole Pakistan to post the image of the meeting and COAS only met with Gem Dunford in that room. Don't bring in your conspiracy :)
I was busy throughout today, so didn't had time to follow the entire course of events.

I saw a ticker of Bajwa and Dunford having a discussion on the sidelines in a Pakistani news channel. No conspiracy in my post. What I know is that IK came in to the room last. IK kee entry sey pehley bhee kuch baat cheet hui hai delegations mein.

Mujhey koi zaroorat nahin hai conspiracy karney kee. Mein aap kee taran conspiracy theories mein believe nahin karta.

Looks very similar to the read out after the earlier phone call, same reference to decisive action against terrorists. Pretty clear why there was no joint press conference.

Overall it was a great outcome for Pakistan and Imran Khan checked Pompeo and the other tough talking officials with him. He showed them who was the boss in that meeting and his body language was very clear. The problem is the handling after the meeting and before the meeting by the the Pakistani FM SMQ who seems to be very hyperactive and a loudmouth. He seems to paint a rosy picture where none exist. There’s nothing wrong in saying that the situation is bad and then presenting your point of view rather than create perceptions about the discussions that are factually untrue; especially when the Americans will release a press statement contradicting what you have said. He doesn’t seem to have changed from his PPP days and Imran Khan and PTI will have to restrain and contain him if not outright boot him. He is not the right person for the position, anyways. If you are trying to reset your foreign policy, it makes no sense to have a relic of the past lead that change. Shireen Mizari would have been a much much better choice.

I never do conspiracy when I do I say I am. Any ways enjoy the US delegations visit it was a success for Pakistan.

A bad day for PTI today raising gas and electricity prices, after blabbing for the poor for the last many years coupled with this visit and meek traditional response by Foreign Minister Qureshi. He is an absolute disgrace. Qureshi should be shown youtube tapes of Mevlut Cavusoglu and other FM of 2018 and learn straight talk from them. This Bullsh*t diplomatic slave language he did in press conf. does'nt work anymore. Even a 5 year old knows what Pompeo was here to do and what will he say after he departs. PM Imran would be shamed tomorrow as well when Pompeo stands with Indian FM in New Delhi and barks about what he said to Pakistanis.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi was always a limited personality with not much ability he proved that today. He should ditch these PPP jokers and find someone young in the PTI for foreign ministership.

Calm yourself, you are taking your increased fuel bill out on a totally different topic. Ending subsidies is going to hurt. Its not all Jalsa parties and no substance. I'm not trying to be insensitive, but what did you think cutting back meant? This is Austerity.

As far as the Foreign Minister, this is a face to face introductory meeting. Pakistan gets the "reset" and acknowledgement of a political solution. remember all institutions are backing him up now, so this is the view from the army as well. As far as the Indians, they will spin it no matter what is said.

Qureshi is doing his job well. His role is to amend ties not to deter it. In good and bad cop game he is former. Pompeo has invited him for a talk in Washington during UN session which is a good thing for Pak US fragile relations. Remember we are dealing with Trump govt here. So far so good. Keep it slow but steady.

I see in this meeting a positive tone and confidence-building measure which is the need of the hour.

This is what I mentioned two days ago: https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/us-s...ent-with-pakistan.575757/page-8#post-10762414

In Surah al-Isra, Allah Almighty have advised all believers to shun corruption, and the fact that a corrupt nation will taste wars and destruction.

I do not say that our problems are over; far from it, but this is a good start. We have a sincere cabinet in power, with good thought-process and anti-corruption agenda. Hope for the best.

Nevetheless, much to be done.

NO! Shireen Mizari is a loudmouth, and not suitable for diplomatic talks.

Your words, edited, for the East:

A power sharing agreement will have to assure India all Pakistani parties respect the territorial integrity of India; Line of Control as the Border, and no further claims will be made over territory on Eastern side of it. No elements operating in Pakistan can be used to attack or undermine any foreign nation, including India in Kashmir for example.
Not enough: India is left free to undermine Pakistan, which means Pakistan's current doctrine of first use of nuclear weapons in case of "India-sponsored internal rebellion" would have justification to remain intact.

Abe what do u know about the issue? He is not new to foreign ministry and has been a weak player in PPP govt. also. He was in Indian Punjab when 2008 Mumbai attacks happened. They did not allow him to come down the hall and cancelled his appearance with him nopt squeaking a word. He is a crap FM and push PTI to same as what Peoples Party did. Its not subsidies but the losses and management of the departments which PTI used to crap about and now following these same corrupt bureaucrat mafia. Most are paying their bills and have to pay more which will further strangulate the middle class.

Pakistan is a sensible country when it comes to sensitive issues.

Pakistan will not attack India with nuclear weapons unless Indian forces invade Pakistan. Even in this case, Pakistan will strike at Indian forces with Nasr-based tactical nukes if conventional forces fail to stop them on their own. Pakistan won't be the first to strike at Indian cities or such.

India - on the other hand - see even in the use of tactical nukes as an engagement which warrant an all-out nuclear response from it. India is a regional bully, and should revisit its nuclear doctrine.

Which means that in case of "India-sponsored" internal rebellion Pakistan's nuclear weapons are to be employed within the territory of Pakistan. If I was Pakistani I would not find that line of thought reassuring in the least. Do you?

Better to include the same clause for India as for Pakistan and revise the doctrine, yes?

Yep I agree with out on corruption and USA is the house of corruption and caution should be taken with USA. Relation with USA can only get well if USA addresses our national interests other wise we already have other options :)

Waiting for next False Flag that's due soon.
Agreed next is coming.
