Why would he show all his cards? Trump does not need to get involved in a China-India conflict. The only US interest is in keeping China off-balance. For this some support to India is good while the US gets to keep its trade ties with China intact. No overt support coming out in favor of India when things heat up. A lot of this has to do with the fact that there is no cultural/ideological affinity between the US and India. One can go back to the late 50s and early 60s to see US courting of Pakistan at the time to help keep the Soviets off balance in the region. It is essentially the same wine in a different cup. India will try to milk what it can but US isn't interested in fighting anyone else' wars.

No need for Trump to say anything, he is letting Pompeo do the talking on this and it's clear whose side the US is on: it's definitely not China.

So basically a huge win for US diplomacy . On the contrary, if there is no war, India would never insert herself into an alliance with the US.

As for Kashmir being in ur hands...didnt u guys claim that the Maharaja of the princely state of J&K signed the instrument of succession with India? So by that logic whatever portion of Kashmir u r holding on to is what u managed to save. A large portion of it was still taken by Pakistan and China. So u see it is Pak/China that have ur territory for "70 years" and it is still with them.
