Who the hell knows what goes on in BD behind the scenes given this (I can post UN crime report data regarding it too...BD has several times rape prevalence than India according to the UN numbers). Indian media is way more open and exposes much more is the big difference. BD is a lawless crap hole and an extremist sanctuary to boot (of all kinds). That aside, that's Myanmar's internal business. All I can say is that China has been pursuing a major country diplomacy, and becoming more proactive, as in the case of Myanmar.

China, naturally, has been more sensitive in developments right across its borders but has never quit the principle of non-interference, respect for sovereignty and peaceful (economic) solution to political problems.

So, China's participation in Myanmar's peace process recognizes and respects the will of the government of Myanmar, its army and people. This is significant because Myanmar's security and development is important for China's peripheral security and development.

Myanmar is an integral part of the BCIM corridor under the BRI.

China has already created conditions favorable to kick-start dialogue between Nay Pyi Taw and ethnic armed organizations (some of them may not be recognized because they are borderline terrorist organizations).

China also provides humanitarian relief.

But China also knows that the peace process will be a long and complicated one. It needs to go hand in hand with economic development in impoverished areas.

In the end, China wants no side to suffer. But, this whole affair will never harm Myanmar's sovereignty, territorial integrity and internal political affairs. China will never let anyone, be it US or Bangladesh, to manage it.

US can pass any domestic law they want. This will only make China's hand stronger.

But China will never allow the US to pass any resolution at the UNSC. Without that, US is just a big talking mouth.

So, your best friend in this affair is practically incapacitated. What its terrorist enabling senators say or do is the least of China's concern.

Where did you read China is trying to negotiate peace between BD and MM? The only thing it did is to say a few superficial words to appease the present MM Junta. It was only China that had kept the military in power for many decades and it is China which is fully supporting Suu Kyi who expelled the Rohingya Muslims from their native Arakan.

China is incapable to give anything positive, either to north Korea or to Burma. A day is coming when the UN and USA together will put a blockade in the BoB around Burma only when China will come to its sense.
