US citizen arrested from Karachi airport

KARACHI: The US citizen was arrested from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi after some projectiles were recovered from his possession on Monday, ARY News reported.

The US citizen was carrying 15 bullets of 9-MM along with a magazine, when security officials caught him during the checking. A case was also registered at airport police station. The arrested US citizen was due to catch Islamabad-bound flight. He had his original passport.

According to SP Rao Anwar, the bullets found from the US citizen will be checked if they were the same being used in killings in Karachi.

He said it was also being probed to ascertain about other ‘important personalities’ travelling the same flight.

Anwar said the possibility of flight hi-jacking could also not be ruled out.

Note to Self: there is nothing wrong with carrying Ammo on Domestic Flights unless its a Firearm - however, such explosive items must be registered with ASF, so when ASF personnel approached him for search he should have told them prior to search that he has ammo ----

KARACHI: Police revealed on Tuesday that the US citizen, arrested at Karachi airport on Monday, was on secret mission in Pakistan, ARY News reported.

According to initial investigation report, police have found some secret spying tools including pen-camera and official cards from the possession of US citizen.

The report said the nature of the mission undertaken by the arrested man was being investigated by law enforcers.

The court has already remanded the arrested man to a police remand till May 10.

The US citizen was arrested from Karachi airport carrying some 9-mm bullets and a magazine. He was shifted to airport police station for further interrogation.
