US-China tech war: Apple puts China squarely at the apex of supplier list, bucking talk of decoupling and scrutiny of its vendors

oh no! you from industry ...Kopin does micro displays and not microLED - you American burger flipper know nothing .

US-based Microdisplay developer Kopin announced an agreement with Jade Bird Display (JBD) to develop superbright monochrome microLED microdisplays. Kopin says that LED technology has the potential to enable super-high brightness and low power consumption displays.

Under this new agreement, JBD will provide LED wafers and hybrid bonding service to Kopin who will used its own silicon backplanes to produce monochrome 2kx2k 1" microdisplays.

Kopin is currently producing LCD, LCoS and OLED microdisplays. The company developed several microLED display technologies (US 5,300,788, 5,453,405, 6,403,985).

irrelevant because that's not the technology being put into production with BOE as you claimed but rather OLED technology while microLED is inorganic InGaN. from your own source yet again.

If you want to expand the scope into microLED, then China has an overwhelming lead in microLED patents.

BOE is the industry leader in microLED patents.

the audience can easily see which of us has actual technical knowledge and which of us is furiously googling every little term trying to make something stick.

.
You US will tariff phones made in China for the Chinese Market? Hahahahaha. All Chinese love money but they understand what a strong China can do. Look at Vietnam now, begging for vaccines. Lol. Do I need to post Vietnamnese slums to remind you of your status as a poor person?
I just explain why CN part suppliers will not stay in CN if they got 25% tariff, they only keep those factories manufacturing products for CN market in CN.

CN market only have 1,3 billion ppl while the World market have at least 6 billion ppl. If CN investors have to chose between CN market and the World market, of course they will chose the World market having 6 billion ppl .

ah! the default Chinese position but...but we have more patents
patents mean nothing especially the questionable once.
your own source calls a majority of the Chinese microLED patents subpar

“The increase in patents coming from China is remarkable”, comments Virey. “Many of those microLED patents are questionable. Nevertheless, established players shouldn’t underestimate their Chinese competitors and dismiss the threat: some patents show world class innovation and demonstrate a strong resolve to close the gap with established rivals.” In addition, in high volumes, even low quality patents can be used as bargaining tools to fend off infringement lawsuits, negotiate cross licensing agreements etc.

The proliferation of subpar patents may however hinder innovation as it increases barriers to entry: increasing resources are required to conduct freedom-to-operate analysis, monitor patent activities, try to invalidate wrongly granted patents and respond to infringement lawsuits.

If PDF is any indication the entire "American" industry seems to be carried by some Chinese expats anyways, while the rest is filled with pretentious and clueless mouthbreathers who can barely understand 50% of the superficial narrative of the CNN fakenews articles they skim through when hasting trough internet arguments and ducking out with excuses of being just too smart for everyone to understand so they "choose" to talk like ignorant imbeciles for our sake or too tired to "easily" proof their point, everytime they are pressed to deliver for once.

Might as well just go straight for the local Chinese R&D and safe yourself the Dollar infalted wages as long as the U.S. government hasnt caught up with what you are doing.

that's a qualitative statement that means nothing because he is unable to say where they're questionable and questionable or not, it'll still have to be litigated in court.

you have again moved the goalpost from the original statement - where you were proven to be dead wrong on a technical issue - to a discussion about microLEDs which is totally irrelevant to the original point.

And I just explained to you why they wil stay, its the money stupid. You don't seem to understand how tarrifs work? Tariffs only apply to US to other countries numb numb, that's why Vietnam is primarily used by Chinese manufacturers to export to US, some are not even made in Vietnam, they bribe the customs officer and change the documents. Vietnam being a primitive and more corrupt nation is easily manipulated. Lol.

Only 1.4 billion? How many 1.4 billion do you know has the ability to consume like China? Wake up numb numb, in the game of big powers, Vietnam is just a pawn.

No one care what u say, u cant deny that the CN part suppliers who got 25% tariff are fleeing more and more to VN.

U dont even have your own factories, u only keep lying and hope the boss will not abandon u
I thought Vietnam was getting some more suppliers?
Yes, more and more are coming, I also suddenly have so many Chinese friends in VN now

Setting up subsidiaries equals fleeing? Tahts called business, we exploit cheap labor and avoid tariffs. To flee you would have to abandon some place and then relocate. But are the Luxshare factories closed? Foxconn is even expanding in China. Nobody can abandon the world's largest market, its just common sense. Can Vietnam even replace a 800mil work force, max Vietnamnese work force is 50mil at most, we are talking about a work force 13x larger with decades of experience and skills. Tahts not even considering the clusters and industrial supply chains and logistics. Vietnam will. End up as a supplementary cluster to China, being near to guangdong is your only advantage.

U dont even have enough money to open a factory, talking too much only make u look like cheap clown trying to entertain the audiences.

Try to own a factory ,(that got 25% tariff ) first, u will realize that all what u say is very stupid, your factory will collapse under 25% tariff and u will flee to VN like other Cnese :pop:

Chinese Suppliers Are Moving To Vietnam
Want proof Vietnam is the next big thing in Asia? Look at what domestic manufacturers in the area are doing. Chinese manufacturers are on the lookout for lower labor costs, and they're able to save as much as 2/3rds by shifting manufacturing to Vietnam. If you've dealt with a Chinese manufacturer in the last ten years, there's a chance they've started producing in Vietnam and moving part of their operations there.

The larger your Chinese supplier is - the more likely they've outsourced some of their production to Vietnam. Many Chinese manufacturers are now "double-dealing" and manufacturing part of their production in China while manufacturing the rest in Vietnam. Some Chinese companies keep their main production lines in China while manufacturing small parts in Vietnam, while others have completely moved their factories to Vietnam.

If you've worked in China for a long time and are accustomed to dealing with Chinese suppliers - this knowledge will prove useful in Vietnam as many cultural nuances are the same in both countries. Chinese are also influencing Vietnamese suppliers and passing down knowledge to the workers. It's not uncommon to walk into a 5,000 person factory in Vietnam and find out 500 workers are from China.

We at Cosmo Sourcing find that most mid-level managers in both countries are fluent in 3 languages: Chinese, Vietnamese, and English. Transferring manufacturing from China to Vietnam is a relatively straight-forward process. If you have specification sheets, product documentation, and checklists written in Chinese/English - you'll find it easy to translate them to Vietnamese.

Is Milton Friedman a factory owner? If everybody needs to be a factory owner to understand economics then you wouldn't have workers left. Lol

I told you 10x, 25% is for goods EXPRTED to US. And not all good are tariffed at max 25%. How are you not able understand such a simple concept. So did China collapsed? Are there still factoreis in China? Read your own article, it is saying the same thing I am saying.

It's been 3 years, still waiting for China to collapse, I still remember you didn't dare to bet... Lol. US lost both the trade war and the virus war. 500k dead, economy ravaged.... Go hug your papa

Samsung doesn't have the technology? wrong, san'an is just a FAB like TSMC that will produce microLED for Samsung. Just like TSMC and BOE are contracted by Apple to produce microLED for Apple. The microLED design is Samsung IP, San'an are contract manufacturing for Samsung.

It is Samsung technology.
