The three big news items that have come out of three major regions/countries in the past couple of days:

US Supreme Court legalizes gay marriage

Dozens killed in terror attacks in Tunisia, Kuwait and Paris

China organizes beer festival pre-Ramzan

Much as many of us hate America as the great Satan, their law has given more freedom to a minority - in this case, LGBT community. Meanwhile, extremists in Middle East and elsewhere are busy killing other people for being of the wrong faith or the wrong denomination of the right faith. Elsewhere, the state is using its might to organize an event that looks like a deliberate slight to a religious minority. I think this pretty much sums up everything we need to know about what direction each society is headed in. This probably also explains why people choose to move from one set of countries to another.

Here's hoping to a more plural and tolerant world, where people can live together with their differences, without the urge to impose their own (religious or communist-atheistic) values on others.

The very definition religious tolerance is not forcing/expecting others to follow your personal religious rule. The majority is expected to tolerate the minority and the minority is equally expected to tolerate the majority. In this case, any Muslims who chose to observe the no-alcohol rules are free to do so and non-Muslims are not expected to change their daily routine. Also, US has a lot of Muslims as well and I certainly don't hear anything about alcohol sales going down because of Ramadan.
