South Korea will reject any possible offensive military action against North Korea, SK can't take the risk of being toasted like a fat goose by cannon storm from the caves of their northern brothers. This will completely destroy their economy. It's true that the authority of military is controlled by USA, however this does not indicate US can do whatever they want, USA has to consider its commitment to its allies. Super powers have commitment to its allies like Russia's protection of Syria. This is why allies exist in the first place, there must be common interest to form a relationship of alliance. South Korea can tolerate many trivial thing dominated by USA, however, war directly decides their fate, they apparently won't agree such move by USA especially North Korea is already a de facto nuclear power.

Until this day, There is NO statements from China that they are agree to let US troops cross 38th Parallel to attack North Korea.
And also they never ever make a statement, They will attack North Korea.

War fanatics should stop illusion. North Korea is not a threat to USA, USA defense system can shoot down NK's missile, whether or not NK's missile can accurately hit target is still a pending problem, NK has no geographical condition to test such capability. However, NK does have the capability to destroy South Korea and Japan, the close distance make it possible.

USA can't get any positive output from attacking North Korea, China already passed the stage that a regional war can stop growth of China. So forget it waging a war can effectively stop China's growth. In fact, the output may be positive for China and negative for South Korea, Japan and USA. South Korea has many overlapped industrial sectors competing with China, e.g. shipbuilding, semiconductor, chemical, machine tools etc, unless USA want to 'donate' China a chance to swallow all the industries South Korea already built in the past few decades, this also have negative impact on Japan's industries due to integration of supply chain, it does have negative impact on China's relevant industries in short term, however China can recover from this crisis very fast. South Korea will lose their market share for ever.

I think China should adopt the US policy on mutual-defense treaties.

The US position is that a mutual defense treaty is a shield, not a sword. In other words, a defense treaty is purely defensive.

When a country like North Korea abuses a treaty, it is on its own.

Refusing to talk to China is not a sign of an ally. Implicit in a mutual defense treaty is an obligation to meet and strategize with your benefactor.

Here, we have the tail wagging the dog. North Korea does whatever it likes and expects China to assume the responsibility of an international crisis.

To me, that is a ridiculous interpretation of a mutual defense treaty. Either North Korea listens to China or the defense treaty becomes just a piece of paper. Being treated as a fool (when Kim Jong Un refuses to meet with China's special envoy for an entire four days) is no way to honor a mutual defense treaty.

Wiping out North Korea totally may cause affects on China. Such a huge bomb will definitely affect the neighbors so definitely, China won't let it happen.

Saddam had nothing. US only accused him of possessing chemical weapons. It was all cooked B.S. Had he developed chemical weapons, he would have used them. He was least afraid of being dead. Just watch his video moments before he was hanged. If he had something powerful, he would have certainly used them. He would have gone down fighting rather them surrendering just like that.
