US Army plans for the Precision Strike Missile

Is it hypersonic?

No, it’s a quasi ballistic missile. The baseline missile will have a 550km range. Then a seeker will be added around the 2025 timeframe to strike ships. 1,200 missiles will be bought over the next 5 years with a total program goal of 4,000.

Yeah as expected. You can only dream of hypersonics.

Well let's see.
Until next year don't mess up with Russia and China ;)

Ukraine is doing just fine annihilating the Russian Army.

The US today has an inventory of 10,000 cruise missiles. Am there in the process of massively expanding its air launched cruise missile inventory and ground based fires capability. We’re going to be okay

10,000 or 40,000 doesn't matter. Russia will keep destroying those foreign arm shipments and keep gaining more land. Already almost captured whole eastern Ukraine and soon will capture south. After that whole of Ukraine. This war has just started. Grab your pop corns and stay tuned. Though I feel sorry for the Ukrainian civilians dying because of you.

Dream? You realize the U.S. has already successfully tested the hypersonics in different programs? Why do you think the U.S. is incapable of developing such tech?
Because no far we didn't hear of a single successful US hypersonic missile test.
While Russia not just tested by used it in Ukraine.

US Successfully Tests Air-breathing Hypersonic Weapon

On September 27, the U.S. Defense Department announced the successful flight test of its Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC), a scramjet-propelled hypersonic missile. In the test, conducted the week of September 19, the hydrocarbon-fueled missile successfully released from an aircraft before cruising to speeds over Mach 5. HAWC is a DARPA-U.S. Air Force technology demonstration effort initiated in 2014. In a release, DARPA officials stated that the test “brings us one step closer to transitioning HAWC to a program of record that offers next generation capability to the U.S. military.”

No name, no pics , no video of a missile.
Just a word from someones mouth. As true as iraqs weapons of mass destruction.

C-HGB is by far the most accurate hypersonic weapon system of its kind on record. This is ICBM-class hypersonic weapon system on top.

Err.. No.

Latest situation on the ground:

Red shading = gains of Russian armed forces
Blue shading = gains of Ukranian armed forces

Ukranian armed forces defeated Russian armed forces in Northern sectors of the country around Kyiv. Details are in following link:

Focus of the war have shifted to the EAST and Ukranian armed forces are holding their own in this region as well.

Local Ukrainian counterattacks retook territory north of Kherson and west of Izyum in the past 24 hours. Russian forces continue to make little progress in scattered, small-scale attacks in eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian forces are successfully halting Russian efforts to bypass Ukrainian defensive positions around Izyum, and Russian forces are struggling to complete even tactical encirclements. Local Ukrainian counterattacks in Kherson Oblast are unlikely to develop into a larger counteroffensive in the near term but are disrupting Russian efforts to completely capture Kherson Oblast and are likely acting as a drain on Russian combat power that could otherwise support Russia’s main effort in eastern Ukraine.

Russian armed forces have lost more men and equipment in Ukraine in 61 days then they lost in Afghanistan in 10 years. Details are in following link:

Russian KIA have exceeded 20,000 by now.

Let us see what Russia can achieve in Ukraine in the long run.

You are expecting too much from Russia in Ukraine, however. Russia cannot occupy Ukraine as a whole due to following reasons:

1. The war have shown that Russian main battle tanks cannot survive in numerous environments of Ukraine.

2. Russian jet fighters are unable to make much impact due to lack of technology. Even the much-hyped Su-35S is not up to the task. Details are in following link:

Russian armed forces are much less capable than American for "conventional warfare."

Even as far back as in times of World War 2, Soviet armed forces suffered heavy losses in war with Finland. Details in following link:

Soviet contribution to Allied Victory in World War 2 was but a part of the collective effort. USA produced much greater effects in comparison.

Russia is MEDIOCRE in conventional warfare - always had been.

As Legend posted there are some pics and videos of the hypersonic test. However recently the U.S. military has been keeping the hypersonic program quiet so you don't get much details about the tests except to say it was successful or failed. But you can see the U.S. Army already having a unit training and preparing for the new missiles. I'm hoping they can also keep developing conventional IRBMs with MARV capability which would be cheaper and just as effective.
