With Gaza performance of the Iron Dome the "myth" was exposed as a US tax payer money grab. How many other "myths" do we have from Israel!!..


The US military has decided not to purchase Israel's Iron Dome to intercept and destroy short-range rockets and artillery shells after testing the purported all-weather aerial missile system earlier this summer.

According to a report in Defense News website, Washington opted for Enduring Shield system developed by American company Dynetics after a shoot-off and comparative tests between the two systems at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico last month.

to be honest I believe it was a wrong move Endearing shield System is based on AIM-9x while Iron Dome was based on Tamir , AIM-9x cost more than 350000$ each while Tamir interceptor which according to latest estimate is about 40000$

Aim-9x can be more successful on missile to missile base but system wise Iron dome is more successful.
also the decision was made on the fact of interception of 8 cruise missiles not intercepting 150 to 200 artillery rockets .

for 150 rocket interception you must spend 45 million Dollar if you use American solution and around 10 millions dollar by Israeli solution in Gaza war Israel faced several volley of missiles per day for 15 day that only will bring us to more than 1,000,000,000 $ per two week if we say they attacked twice a day only against a small force just think how the difference would be against a target that can throw you more than 1000 artillery piece per day for more than one month, that would be 7.5 milliard at least
