US, allies pushing to place Pakistan on terror-financing watchlist: report

Yeah US, the biggest terrorist on Earth, s
Agree. But "deep state" primarily focus on Nation's security related issues...not in every sphere of life...See today...all Pak channels are filled with ex army generals giving their advises on finance, politics, governance....are they SMEs of everything?. Plus why is it that a democratically elected govt. in your country has to seek approval from the establishment (now and historically)...why this drama of democracy then...why can't their be dictatorship/army rule forever!

If you think that there is no 'deep state' here in Australia then you are a retard. The very definition of 'deep state' means ALL aspect of the society NOT selected aspects of society. You need to comprehend things first before writing garbage like this.

.
Yes, Pakistan is supporting terrorist by allowing supply through Pak. and financing by not charging.
Stupid American.....and about Pak cant say anything wont make any difference.

First , learn some manners and have decency while replying to anyone, especially if you are jumping in the debate uninvited. Using abusive words in your text only paint you as an immature, high-headed and rude.

You must be one of those who have arrived here on a student visa or 457 and who is yet to learn about the basic of communication.

Allies will not withdraw.america ordered them to use this financial task force against pakistan.basically India and america are isolating Pakistan and they are doing great but we haven't seen any countermeasures from Pakistani side.pakistan should stop all nato supplies now.pakistani policy is becoming a public shame.if we don't counter America this time,it gives them more courage and this courage will ultimately leads to american attack on Pakistan which they wanted from years.this is all part of a big game.india and america are working together.india didn't learn anything from sunjuwan attack.i recommend Mumbai style attack by fidayeen.they must pay the price of humiliating Pakistan on international platform.india deserves harsh punishment.

Comment on Dawn...What do you say?

The real reason behind this is to make CPEC as unviable an option for Pakistan as possible. Because business with Pakistan will become so expensive that it would outweigh the benefit of cheaper transportation from China.

Money laundering and other reasons are just a front.. I don't buy that

US, allies pushing to place Pakistan on terror-financing watchlist: report

The United States and its European allies have tabled a motion with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) with a view to placing Pakistan on a watchlist of countries considered non-compliant with global anti-terror financing measures, an exclusive Reuters report said on Tuesday.

Miftah Ismail, Pakistan's de facto finance minister, told the news agency that the US and UK had nominated Pakistan to be put on the watchdog’s international money-laundering and terror-financing ‘grey list’ a few weeks ago, before France and Germany joined them as co-sponsors.

"We are now working with the US, UK, Germany and France for the nomination to be withdrawn," Ismail, who is the adviser to the prime minister on finance, revenue and economic affairs, told Reuters. "We are also quite hopeful that even if the US did not withdraw the nomination that we will prevail and not be put on the watchlist."

The motion against Pakistan could be adopted at the FATF meeting scheduled to take place in Paris from February 18 to 23.

The FATF maintains grey and black lists for identifying countries with weak measures to combat money laundering and terror financing. The watchdog does not have the powers to impose sanctions on a country found not meeting the required standards. However, its listing can affect international transactions from the country concerned as those would then become subject to greater scrutiny.

This will increase the cost of doing international/cross-border transactions and ultimately higher cost of doing business locally. Pakistan was last placed on FATF’s grey list in February 2012 and stayed on it for three years.

A senior official of the US government told Reuters that the moving of the motion is a well-thought-out manoeuvre to urge Pakistan into taking action against all militant groups rather than just selective ones.

"It is time for that to stop, and so we are working with our allies, who also are affected, to see effective action against groups such as the Haqqanis and elements of the Taliban,” the official was quoted as saying.

With the upcoming FATF meeting scheduled for next week, President Mamnoon Hussain had last Friday promulgated an ordinanceamending the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 with regards to proscription of terrorist individuals and organisations to include entities listed by the United Nations Security Council.

A major impact of the new ordinance would be the proscription of Hafiz Saeed-linked Jamaatud Dawa and Falah-i-Insaniat Foundation along with the UN listed outfits of Al Akhtar Trust and Al Rashid Trust.

Don't give a 2 shyt flying f* of what others think or say about it. Be ruthless and advance your own national interests.
You missed two countries that you should learn. Iran and North Korea. Don't give two shyt flying f* of what other think or say about it. Be ruthless and advance your own national interest. Provided you don't get sanctioned back to stone age.

Security of a nation is ensured by making all institutes and departments vital for a country, (i.e. media, business, bureaucracy, executive branch, judiciary, economics, social structures, education, intellegencia etc etc) function in coherence for own national interest.

Your liking or disliking of deep state (be it generals, retired bureaucrats, intellectuals) does not matter.

Ex military men advising in govt functions is nothing new, I see them everywhere in Western countries as well.

More than 90% of Western people working in any capacity have a military background due to mandatory military service for everyone.

Going by your writing style you most probably are some Chandu Ram settled in Australia, so I can fully understand your frustration with Pakistan's deep state. But this is how things work in the modern world, national interest first. And a patriotic deep state makes sure that it stays that way.

I am not responsible for what you are told in madrassa ,if you proof take it to the town bro.

India is not the one instigating anything here,we want to live peacefully without anyone interfering in our country.you should not be expecting us to sit quiet when someone is interfering in our country
Madrasah? Never been to one! So your assumptions are floored. Your politicians are war hungry and constantly make dangerous statements. Indians are actively involved in terrorism in Pak.

This has been going on for months.

Moreover,

1. Its not a secret that Abbasi government is making all the tough calls before GE2018 i.e. floating the rupee, removing subsidies, etc.

2. Trump administration has been testing the Abbasi government ever since Shareef resigned. U.S. feels it can extract something out of the Abbasi government before GE2018.

Though there is chatter about another option:

This summer there will be elections in Pakistan. The drama of another shutdown of the border with Afghanistan (like the one in 2012) may play well into the theatrics of the moment. Nothing gets ordinary Pakistanis more fired up than the opportunity to thumb their noses at the US, denial of military aid be damned. (Source)
How this option unfolds is anyone's guess.

.
India has been getting more aid than Pakistan. Pakistan didn't even got reimbursed for the services it rendered' let alone aid.

USA has also been financing the Pakistan people and Pakistan military for decades, what do you have to say to that?

What is chandu Ram? .... and by your writing style you sound like a high-headed egotist for sure.

Now debate is not on deep state but the level of interference and intimidation of the deep state in normal affairs of a state.

1. The difference between yours and others deep state is other deep states have a limit on interfering and people have freedom to agree/disagree with them...unlike yours.
2. Why is it only deep state is patriotic and not rest of institutions? Who has the authority to certify that? (Deep State itself?)
3. Regarding your ex army guys..read this...quite an old article but you'll have a background. (and for sure...You will deny/ridicule it)
