US agency collected second-highest amount of digital data from Pakistan

Wow...Do you have a source for it ?

What you said is absolutely believable. I have noticed that most of the government sites are not even secured to begin with and the jahil awam has no concept of cyber security...

Jahil awam? You should be more careful with your choice of words!

NADRA has one of the most secure network in Pakistan. Besides, have you never heard of espionage and stealing of information from highly secure and classified US Government databases??

Well we have replaced Siemens with ZTE/Huawei so now the Chinese will be listening in on us instead of the Germans/Americans :partay:

Buhat nazaq surat-e-haal hai :enjoy:

It will remain so till Pak remains an "agricultural country" only good for teen dabba technologies.

Hi,

The news has been out---. The data was leaking thru the ENCRYPTION DEVICES that sensitive govt entities had bout---.

So it is far far worse than NADRA data---.

Over 100 countries were the target thru these devices---.

Joe,

You know why I call most pakistanis STUPID---because they are---.

This information leak is thru ENCRYPTION DEVICES that over 100 govts have purchased for communication with their agencies---.

These kids are talking about NADRA data base---or money withdrawn and things like that---.

What this information is telling the public that all the truths and lies that all those govts made to the US---those fckrs knew about it---.

The encryption devices were manufactured by switzerland---the US and Germany supposedly purchased that company thru back door---and put their bug in them---oh well.

I was just being facetious. This is a horrible lapse, and under the smiles, we all have to introspect. I will say that there has been a lot of sensitivity about this in India, and there has been a great deal of emphasis on data being kept right in India.

That means nothing by itself; I_know_people_who_know_people who can tell us some horror stories, but those are not mine to tell, except to ask,"Who will guard the guardians?"

They have been spying on us for a long time. I remember I read one Newsweek article a decade ago which discussed US spy operations overseas. Iran was the number one target, after which was Pakistan. It shows who the US saw as a threat and where they had their assets.

. . .
The US knows a lot about us (even 15 yrs back).

Interesting story. Had a friend whose father was a one star who worked in an org under SPD. My friend's brother was going to US for studies. Embassy guys at the time of visa were probing him again and again. He tried to give the standard answer but the embassy guys gave a hint of where his father worked.

Don't worry he wasn't turned and came back several years later to work here.

Nadra database is no big deal.

.
NADRA Database is IN-HOUSE and highly secure!

Please stop spreading disinformation because your source is incorrect.

Yes I could be wrong, my sources could be wrong. I would be very happy if I Am wrong.

But you know several years ago when I applied for nadra card for my parents, sisters, brothers and myself, I was given receipts for each one. I noticed that tracking numbers were just incremental. I then few weeks later played with those numbers and by incrementing them further and without any login/password I had access to several privates informations which were not needed for checking the status of nadra card. And I don’t remember if they were using https or not.

So secured today ? Yes. But when your database has been compromised once, even partially... by just increments of number of your tracking number, I will let you imagine what could have done an IT expert in hacking.

nadra.gov.pk seems to be based in USA, and Pak-identity seems based in Pakistan. Refer to the link I have posted in my message.

The link of Pak-identity is given on nadra.gov.pk website. The link could have been compromised who know. When you click on it and give all your data (name, photo, fingerprints etc) who know who intercept your data) and USA are known to have hacked most of communications systems..

And even if our database is in-house, which technology are we using ? The American one ? From where are coming the updates of the system ?

Again I will really appreciate if I’m wrong.

many illegal immigrants from Pakistan in u.s shared their experience that during interview with u.s immigration officials if you provide them with wrong information about your personal details they have knowledge about your wrong provision of information as they take fingerprints of people entering from mexico border which shows that nadra has sold our public data to u.s authorities
It is official. In 2008 there was a was of Pakistan shearing data with UK. There was a pic of officers. I don't know what they were holding. But yes. It's official. Internet is not designed for privacy. That's why , the idea of markhor was great. But baz is not responding

When NADRA started in Musharraf era they wrote their own software and hosted in Pakistan.
Then came PPP and gave hosting contract to a Canadian company .
No other country in the world gives out entire nation's date so easy and si cheap.
No wonder we are in such a big mess

This is the same NADRA that sells ID cards to Afghans for peanuts. Selling databases to the Americans is not a big deal for NADRA.

American deep state has a spying obsession with Pakistan. Collecting data from Pak is a very old American hobby.
