It looks like the key question now is when the Israeli airstrikes began. both Syria and Israel are claiming there was a first wave (around 1:38 AM) and the siren near Dimona was around 1:41 AM, which bolsters the claim it was an errant SAM (like the one that landed in Cyprus). However, many accounts are denying there was a first wave at that time.

If this missile is a SAM meant to target an Israeli jet, then why haven't we heard a single report of a strike in Syria until AFTER the SAM crash landed?

Surely we'd be hearing reports of an air attack in Syria, then subsequently a SAM crash landing, but no one in Syria reported any such thing until after the explosions were heard and the Israelis scrambled their jets to target the batteries by their own admission.

There was no hit. An Iranian Missile was intercepted by Patriot missile system. It's not Saudi Arabia or Iraq Iranians attacked
