The threats of DAESH continue to linger on in the region. Just today the Bajaur TTP group declared its allegiance to DAESH and so continues with their mission of death and terror. We appreciate the efforts of Pakistani security forces against terrorist organizations in the country. Responding to a question regarding the United States approving Pakistan’s request for arms sales, State Department Deputy Spokesperson Marie Harf said, “The State Department did approve a possible foreign military sale for helicopters and associated equipment, parts, and support for an estimated cost of about $952 million.” “This proposed sale of helicopters and weapons systems will provide Pakistan with military capabilities in support of its counterterrorism operations inside the country,” Ms. Harf added. She also declared that the U.S has very close counterterrorism relationship with Pakistan for very good reasons. “There’s still a serious threat in Pakistan from terrorists who have either attacked the US or American soldiers in Afghanistan, who have tried to plot and plan against the West, including the US,” she said. Harf added that since the remnants of core al Qaeda are mainly in the tribal areas of Pakistan, the US is trying to help the country. “This is in our national security interest to do so,” the US State Department deputy spokesperson said.

Thank you USA. We appreciate your help in our fight against terrorism. I hope to see this partnership deepening and finally clearing this region from the curse of terrorism.

To be politically correct, we should thank them for helping us make the terrorists in the first place as well. Also thank you America for interfering in the affairs of this region and sending it to total shit.

The sale of arms to combat the extremists is not a blessing or a favour on their part, but rather a duty which they owe to Pakistan.

Seems like US is really hell bent on promoting ISIS in Pakistan. :disagree:

Will pakistan itself pay or its a US grant for fight against terrorism or some friend will pay?

15 is not enough, more than 15 is required. WZ10 is the best available choice for Pakistan & most probably will be obtained in large number from China, also TOT is expected.

These American heli's are just a ploy to handicap Pakistan in case of war. Too bad Pakistan military hasn't learned anything from it's past mistakes.

Why doesn't Pakistan get the Chinese gunship ? On the surface it seems a very ridiculous choice. Educate me, kindly

I think we should say thanks but no thanks, they are only doing it to harm Russian interest. US might change their mind once we piss off Russians and cancel the sale based on one of the index they maintain to screw third world countries.

Brother what about the permission from the Congress. They have been notified as required by Law but are there any signs that they are going to oppose?
