UN pleads Assad to stop dropping barrel bombs

because russia government is not as courageous as the ussr government which had sent soldiers or advisors to wars across the world, be it afghanistan or be it angola.
They don't have to fight any war inside the UN HQ in New York do they? They only need to talk and vote. So once again, how is UN, NATO's B-Team?

simples - what has become of libya's oil industry, post october 2011?? and what has become of libya's former free/subsidy system??

the fighters of qaeda and fsa may not be from "london school of economics" but i am sure their leaders are capitalist ( other than being reactionary ), as do their masters in white house and downing street and in "think tanks" like ned and "chatham house".
Libya is now a failed state, very sad what happened there. Their oil is now controlled by various criminal jihadist groups, one of whom were selling to the DPRK but US Navy seals raided the tanker (last year, I think)

Syria doesn't even have a lot of oil, maybe they want it for it's location, or maybe Israel gets more land if the Syrian govt collapses.. who knows..

to think its all 'socialism' vs 'capitalism' is to keep a narrow view, the Sauds and other Sunni monarchies have 'socialist' systems too.. they dole a lot of money out to their people from their oil wealth.

perhaps you forget the korea war, the iraq war, the uno security council resolutions against libya and syria, and most crucially for this thread and your question, the statement i said belonging to bernadino leon, earlier in the thread.

ban ki moon and before him, kofi annan, are white house slaves... look at the activities of uno "ambassadors" like angelina jolie.

40+ militaries invaded libyan jamahiriya in 2011, despite existence of uno.

speaking of which, watch this speech from 2009 in the uno general assembly...

(((
)))

to think its all 'socialism' vs 'capitalism' is to keep a narrow view,

that is what it is about, at a big level... syria is the last socialist/non-nato system in west asia ( unless one speaks of some elements of plo ).

that was what iraq war was about or the libya war... libyan oil though of the highest quality is nothing compared to what libyan jamahiriya represented or did... it is a game of ideologies.

regime-change in venezuela is wanted not only for easier oil but also for what the venezuelan government and society represents - independent socialist systems outside control of usa government.

the Sauds and other Sunni monarchies have 'socialist' systems too.. they dole a lot of money out to their people from their oil wealth.

inferior copies... and what do you mean "sunni monarchies"?? is iran's theocratic government legitimate??
