What's new

UN has just condemned Indian gov's brutal curfew imposed on Kashmir.

P.s why am i not allowed to start a new thread on pdf? I have been asking this from different mods but they just either ignore my msg or toss it around to another mod. Care to explain?

It depends upon which section you chose to create a thread? Like in Seniors Cafe, you first need to become a senior which is based upon number of your posts & time spent on the Forum and with 295 messages, you wouldn't be able to do so. Furthermore, new members access is limited in regard to create new threads in normally available sections so you can read the error carefully and check whether it is Seniors Cafe/Kashmir War Section or not.

Speaking of rest of your post, I will advise you to avoid offensive language or personal attacks against members no matter where from they are. The Forum has own policy and it does not allow anyone to disrespect other members. Discussion must be related to the contents & members shouldn't be the subject at all. If you see anyone violating Forum Rules, report the same and move on without quoting back or replying in kind. By doing the same thing in return, both will be treated under same rule.

Regards,

The thing is, there's absolutely NO OPTION showing to start a new thread. I remember when i first joined the forum, there used to be a 'start new thread' option showing on the 'new threads/post' page. Now it has vanished for some reason. Anyway, thanks for the explanation.

If the issue is different than what I mentioned, I will advise you to take screen shots and post a detailed thread at GHQ. Will look into the matter for solution.

Pakistan need to keep putting pressure on India. Parliamentary Special Committee for Kashmir hasn’t done much in last 10 years and Our foreign department have been lazy when it comes to Kashmir. Pakistani Ambassadors in every country must raise his voice for Kashmir by engaging local politicians and media. Creating a Kashmir cell in every Pakistani Embbacy in the world is a positive step. I think it’s time for Pakistan to create a institution (liberating Kashmir) that primary focus should be Kashmir.

I still think nothing will happen. And that Pakistani nation is being taken for a ride.
No Indian or patwari brigade present on this thread to accuse IK or PTI for not doing anything and selling out Kashmir.
On topic India for the very first time has faced such diplomatic offensive from Pakistan. They are not used to it and they are facing the heat. No wonder Modi in every encounter asks his counterpart to ask Pakistan to lower the so called rhetoric.

J&K delimitation process to start after October 31
By Rahul Tripathi

The delimitation of parliamentary and assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir will start only after October 31, the appointed day for the state to become a Union Territory, a top government official said.

As per the norms, the J&K delimitation commission will be headed by a retired supreme court judge, the person said. “The process will start after October 31 and it will be undertaken by the Election Commission of India. As per the Reorganisation Act, the commission will undertake the exercise based on the 2011 census,” he said.

According to 2011 census, the population of Jammu was 6,907,623 while that of Kashmir was 5,350,811.

The number of seats in the UT of J&K legislative assembly will be increased from 107 to 114, out of which 24 seats have been earmarked for Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (Azad Kashmir), according to the J&K Reorganisation Act.

Officials said unlike other states, the delimitation exercise were not carried out in J&K under Article 170 of the Constitution of India.

In 2002, the then National Conference government in the state amended the Jammu and Kashmir Representation of the People Act 1957 and Section 47(3) of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, freezing delimitation of the state’s constituencies.

The delimitation exercise was last conducted in J&K in 1995-96, said the official cited earlier. “Before August 5, J&K had a separate Constitution and delimitation was conducted as per Sections 47 and 141 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir. The state constitution has now become infructuous,” he said.

A home ministry official said the situation in the Valley remained peaceful on Thursday barring stray incidents of protests. In a tweet, J&K Police said: “Situation in the Valley was peaceful today. No untoward incident has been reported so far.”

Restrictions were eased in most parts of the Valley with barricades being lifted and the movement of people and traffic increasing gradually. But markets remained shut and mobile and internet services remained suspended for the 18th day.

Attendance of teachers in schools up to middle class level and employees in government offices was also improving. However, most students stayed away. In Jammu, IG Mukesh Singh held a detailed security review ahead of Janmashtami and Shobha Yatra.

Meanwhile, IAF has postponed AFCAT exam, scheduled for August 24 at the Srinagar centre. However, the exam to be held at Leh and Jammu centres will happen as per schedule.

So what exactly has not been put up?
if we claim iok to be our part, right now is the time to take what is our with force.---- people go to fight for just few inches of land and our govt thinks that India will hand over iok in a plate or the so called diplomacy will open the gates.of Kashmir for us.

And if we can't fight, just give up claim to iok and move on with lives.--- let the Kashmiris in iok fight Indian army with stones.

Most importantly, it's the Kashmiris who matters most, news of genocide is coming from the highest levels, what are we waiting for; genocide to happen?

So what is wrong in launching diplomatic offensive before an offensive can be launched?
