Ukraine Unveils New KT-112 Light Attack Helicopter Concept at IDEX 2017

KT-112 Light Attack Helicopter at IDEX 2017
A new KT-112UD light attack helicopter concept has been unveiled by SE «Ukrinmash», which is a part of the SC «Ukroboronprom», at the IDEX 2017 defence show in Abu Dhabi.

The KT-112UD is a multirole combat helicopter developed by Aviaimpex. The KT-112UD can be armed with light munitions and precision weapons, including Bar’er-V laser-guided rockets and missiles.

The KT-112UD powered by twin Rotax 914 (115 hp) series engines, giving it a maximum speed of 200 km/h. Its payload can include Bar’er-V laser-guided anti-tank missiles, Strela-2 or Igla air-to-air missiles, small precision-guided bombs and 7.62 mm general-purpose machine gun.

Apart from the weaponry, the mission system for the KT-112UD employs a flexible and configurable weapons system comprising a gimballed infrared camera system with integrated laser designation capability, weapons management system, tactical radio suite and aircraft survivability equipment.

The new Ukrainian light attack helicopter is designed to destroy stationary and moving modern armoured targets with combined, carried or monolithic armour, including ERA (explosive reactive armour) as well as pinpoint targets such as weapon emplacements, a tank in a trench, light-armoured objects and helicopters.

Aviaimpex KT-112 Yanhol (Ukrainian: Янгол, "Angel") is a light, three-seat helicopter produced by Aviaimpex in the Ukraine. It was first presented to the media on August 31, 2001. By May 2002, Aviaimpex had revealed plans for helicopter gunship and unmanned aerial vehicle versions.
