What's new

UAE illegal expansion into red sea

And vice versa. Somali, Sudani and Ethiopian people are some of the best people I've met through all the years that I've been around. I even have a special affinity for Ethiopian since I was born there. One of my best friends is Somali and we we've been in touch since school through our 30+ years to now.
Egyptian ethopian Somalian Sudanese relations goes back to the ancient times during the pharaonic period when Egypt used to import and export materials and spices

Also Egypt have big Nubians and population both president Sadat and marshal tantawi are Nubian

Especially the Habesha ( :enjoy: ) and Southern Semitic speakers of Eritrea and the beautiful highlands of Ethiopia and the Rashaida of Eritrea and Sudan. As well as Northern Sudanese.

Beautiful people from beautiful lands, many don't know that. Habesha ladies have an exceptional beauty.

BTW, Nubians of Egypt and Sudan are also incredibly friendly and welcoming people. A shame that some of them face discrimination but luckily it is disappearing just like with our Afro-Arab communities in the Arab world.

I actually consider them one people because they really are. They are some of the genuinely nicest people you'll ever meet.

Yep, exactly. Sadat is the prime example and what a man he was.

And why is Somalia concerned about the Red Sea? Last I checked, Somalia is about 300-400 kilometers from the Gulf of Aden and the entrance to the Res Sea? Article wasn't very clear about that, unless I missed it.

Yep, exactly. Sadat is the prime example and what a man he was.

Habesha women have similar facial features to Arabians and Arab women (IMO) and the same beautiful and large famous eyes.

An example:

And interestingly enough, around 40-50% of their DNA is ancient Arabian/Caucasian DNA which explains why they look so different from all other Africans in terms of facial features and even skin color often. Obviously this is mostly limited to Highlanders and Southern Semitic speakers in Horn of Africa.

Another example is the late Emperor Haile Selassie.

He had this majestic/noble/dignified look that many Arabians/Arabs have (facial features) and which you can see in old portraits of Arab rulers, tribal elders etc.

Give him a keffiyeh and some lightening cream, and you would not look at him as a foreigner until he opened his mouth.

Seen this with Horners (Somalis included) many times and until I knew the historical/ancestral facts, I was always a bit baffled. You know, just like when seeing Southern Europeans, in particular people from Southern Spain, Malta, Sicily and Cyprus. Same story like with Horn Africa. There was this facial familiarity straight away that naturally is not there with say the Congolese or Mongolians.

Basically if the Arab world wants to gain an foothold in Africa and increase cooperation and trade ties, Horn of Africa would be the natural ally here. Along with Sahel nations and Swahili coastline (Eastern Africa). Ample potential really. In particular given the demographic and economic rise of those African nations. They might not be heavyweights today, but there is potential and that is undeniable. Arab leaders should not miss this opportunity. Chinese are already present and given the increasing ties between the Arab world and China, it would be foolish to waste this opportunity.

Yes, they really are. I have heard from many travelers to Egypt from KSA and other Arab countries, that Nubians of Southern Egypt were really, really hospitable and friendly. They are probably your equivalent to our Bedouins in this regard. It's always a bit overwhelming.

Yes, the divides between Ethiopians, Eritreans, Somalis etc. are senseless but it's not like Arabs cannot say the same thing sadly. We are worse, unfortunately.:(

@SALMAN F @Gomig-21

From what I understand this anti-Arab Somalian is from Mogadishu (Southern Somalia and not far from as south as Kenya) while Arab countries and Arabs, traditionally, had the closest ties to Northern and central Somalia, although there was presence in Southern Somalia too but less so in comparison. Northern Somalia is basically Somaliland.

Some say Somaliland extends all the way to the Arabian Sea/Indian Ocean in a straight line. It's called Puntland and is basically the same as Somaliland from what I understand. An extension in other words just with a different name.

I think that there is a rivalry between those regions (Somaliland and Puntland and remaining Somalia) otherwise those de facto independent areas of Somalia would not have emerged without this rivalry.

UAE doing a look of similar projects and Arabs have an ancient and deep foothold in Somalia, Horn of Africa and Eastern Africa (second to none in terms of foreigners) and obviously there is little chance of this changing anytime soon. Thus this decision by UAE and presence is understandable and a continuation of old practices.

Looks more like a business deal gone sour than an illegal takeover. Does UAE even have any interests in that part of the ocean? I think they are more concerned with the Gulf of Oman.....unless this has something to do with Yemen.

Since gwahadar port In pk UAE is working on overdrive to keep monopolistic trade by hostile takeover of Somali ports on the red sea without consulting with our central gov.dubai port will become irrevelent soon.UAE is at war with Somalis and we Somalia know Saudi Arabia is behind these UAE Zionists.they are interested in keeping Somalia destabilized. It is all about about money UAE is going broke and will not be allowed to get away with this illegal hostile takeover.UAE ships will not cross red ea
Peacefully.

We are not Arabs and don't speak Arabic.we speak Somali and English.the only thing Arab contribution nowadays are wahabi terrorism

Keeping ahead of your opponents, looking after your regional interests, planning for future growth avenues, etc cannot be considered as 'hostile' in the literal sense of the word. Every country is doing it. That's just good governance. As for the destabilizing part, I don't see any warships on the Somali coast. They're not involved in any underground operations either. And about the legality of the operation, building a port or buying shares is not illegal.

Here comes the mental abeed.

First of all Somalia, once again, has no Red Sea coastline. That area of Somaliland borders the Gulf of Aden. A sea named after an ancient Yemeni Arab city called Aden.

If you have nothing to do with Arabs, why is Somalia an Arab League member state, why is almost every Somali tribe claiming Arab origin proudly, why is Arabic an official language, why is there an Arab minority, why are there many Somalis in the Arab world, how come Arabs have influenced Somalia more than any other foreigner, how come that Somalia has cordial ties with every Arab country? How come most Somalis being vocal pro-Arabs? Why are most Somalis using Arabic names? List is endless.

UAE nor Dubai (most visited city by tourists in the world measured by air travel, busiest airport (tourists) in the world, leading trade and banking sector on a world-scale etc.) going anywhere.

Nothing called "Wahhabism". Your religion and all your sects originate from us Arabs.

Sure, expect for donating and helping your perpetually failed government that cannot even offer simple services to its people.

Building a port in another country with out consulting with its gov is illegal and hostile takeover.our gov and people reject this illegal deal

Somaliland and its people do not want to be ruled by the failed Mogadishu regime 1000 km away that cannot even prevent weekly terrorist attacks in its capital city. That is why they have their own government and country and act on their own. Don't blame the UAE for your own numerous failures.

I hope to God that none of this has helped your relatives if they share your messed up attitude.

After all you are parroting the rhetoric of your master. As I said once an mental abeed always an mental abeed.

Speaking about Israel and Zionism while your slave owner (Turkey and Erdogan) have official relations with Israel (first Muslim country in the world) and has never went to war against Israel even once. The amount of propaganda. It has worked well, I must say. Luckily you do not represent Somali people. Not even 5%.

He is a typical ikhwanjie

Arabs have been helping all the Muslims around the world while turkey was trying to get into the EU and become a european country nobody heard ever that turkey helped muslims before just because erdoganistan came to power with Ottoman dreams doesn't make Turkey better than the arab countries for me countries like UAE, Qatar and Kuwait did more for muslims worldwide than ever turkey did wiether it's aid or by building mosques and islamic centers in many muslim and none muslim countries

.
Turkey is my ally and brother and I don' care what happens outside my country.UAE should care about their brothers in Libya Iraq Syria Yemen Palestine etc which are going through bad times instead of pushing Somalia into Iranian sphere of influence.
Somalia decision and stance is LOUD and Clear.this illegal agreement will not work on us.

As we both know, this troll represents maybe 0,5% of Somalians (diaspora included) if I am to be generous.

Facts don't work with distorted and biased people. As you can see he is drowning in propaganda.

Waste of time but a few truths were forced to be said. Seen his nonsense for quite a while but I ignored it. After all there are more important issues for us and topics than countering the nonsense of a troll.

You do not speak for anyone but yourself. Secondly go blame Somaliland and the people of Somaliland for doing what their people demand and want to. What happens in Mogadishu 1000 km away next to the Kenyan border should not be the business of non-natives of Somaliland.

You have 1 million problems (literally) but you are barking about the UAE while writing completely nonsense and lies while at the same time praising foreign bases of other countries. What does that make you? An nationalist that reject all foreign presence or a mental slave of x or y?

Even the most war-torn Arab country, has less problems than Somalia and a brighter future with all due respect and don't worry UAE is already helping as well as having helped in Somalia itself, inside and outside of Somaliland.

Many countries are poor so they don't have money to build mosques also many of them are from charities and not government funded

Muslims who live in Europe, North America, Australia don't have enough money to build mosques so many charities and governments from Arab muslim worlds help them countries like Kuwait, Qatar and UAE also help to build mosques and these countries don't spread the salafi ideology
