This is terrible if it really from a pinoy statement. A disregard of equal treatment to all filippino, be it poor or rich. You shall join Zero_wing and be lynch.Whatever it takes against a giant bully. As we are modernizing our military, we are grateful to our close friends in Japan, the US and other civilized nations for their support against this rising threat.
The Opium Wars arose from China's attempts to suppress the opium trade. British traders had been illegally exporting opium to China, and the resulting widespread addiction was causing serious social and economic disruption in the country. In 1839 the Chinese government confiscated all opium warehoused at Canton by British merchants. The antagonism between the two sides increased a few days later when some drunken British sailors killed a Chinese villager. The British government, which did not trust the Chinese legal system, refused to turn the accused men over to the Chinese courts.

Modern day extraterritoriality. Any American in the Philippines is a walking "US Embassy." Free to commit whatever crimes he wants with automatic diplomatic immunity. Yet some Filipinos are worried more about some uninhabited rocks with a potential for natural resources they themselves are unable to access or extract. The Philippines needs to get their priorities straight.

It sad that a seriously enquiries on Philippine independent jurisdiction on their mainland is being taken as a joke by their country man.
When one bragging about justice but on the otherside disregard the atrocities committed by another forces who directly impact on pinoy. How can we take a filippino people word seriously when they cannot even get their own act together to clean their own turf first? the truth is pinoy are divided and simply too many selfish individual exist in Philippine society.
U.S. rejects Manila's bid for custody of U.S. Marine accused of murder
MANILA Wed Dec 17, 2014 5:49am EST
1 of 2. Demonstrators display a banner while holding torches, seeking justice for murdered Filipino transgender Jeffrey Laude, who also goes by the name Jennifer, during a protest along a main street of Manila October 24, 2014.
(Reuters) - The United States embassy in Manila has turned down a request from Philippine authorities to hand over a Marine accused of the killing of a transgender Filipino, a move that could spark anti-American protest in the former U.S. colony.
The Marine, Joseph Scott Pemberton, who is being held at a U.S. facility at the main Philippine army base, was charged with the murder of Jeffrey Laude, who was found dead on Oct. 11 in a hotel in Olongapo City, northwest of the capital.
"The United States will retain custody of Pemberton as provided by the United States-Philippine Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA)," the embassy said in a statement on Wednesday.
"The United States has the right to retain custody of a suspect from the commission of the alleged offense until completion of all judicial proceedings."
Manila and Washington signed the Visiting Forces Agreement in 1998, to allow U.S. forces to hold military drills in the Philippines to test the readiness of the allies, and the pact sets legal rules on how to treat erring servicemen.
