Don't see what the issue is it is a business trade between China and their trade partner
Chinese investment will help Ukraine with their Jobs generation process as well

. . . .
Please tell this to John Bolton because he seems to be thoroughly paranoid over this "nothing new" deal

Well it’s a tough problem. Soviet-era jet engines aren’t used in any major western airlines/militaries so they have no Western market. But their tech is still good enough to be dangerous in the wrong hands. For instance they make the engines for the Soviet An-124, An-225, and Russian helicopters.

Wrong hands?

Actually the Ukrainians themselves are "paranoid" over this deal, so much so, that this happened

"The possible sale of Motor Sich -- a maker of engines for missiles, helicopters, and jets -- to the Chinese provoked a raid of its Zaporizhzhya headquarters by Ukraine's Security Service in early 2018 and the seizure of its shares."

so, even without US intervention, Ukraine sees it as a national security to sell such a vital defense company.

Yep! Unfortunately people here on PDF don’t see reality.

China has produced WS-10G by themself.

What make you think those in Ukraine is much better?

Because a Chinese company is trying to buy it even with all the bad Public Relations by the Ukrainian Press, Ukrainian Government, and Ukrainian Court. If it was nothing Skyrizon would simply drop it.

This is looking like another NPO Energomash situation where we’ll have to buy their engines so they don’t sell their tech knowledge to (or their engineers leave and work for) Iran or China.

They'll probably give money to Safran to buy it so it stays in Europe.

Ukraine should keep the asset, but have close corporation with PRC. maybe allow limited share purchase?
