FARIDKOT: At least two people were killed and over 100 people, including cops, injured during clashes between Sikh community protestors and police over an alleged incident of desecration in Faridkot district of Indian Punjab, according to reports published on The Hindu reported and the Hindustan Times websites.

Sikhs belonging to Faridkot and its adjacent Moga district in Indian Punjab have been holding protests for past two days after more than 100 torn up pages from Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy book were found near a gurdwara in Bargari village of district on Monday.

The holy book was reportedly stolen from the Gurdwara in June.

Two people were killed in violent clashes between the police and protesters at Vaibhal Kalan village, 10 kms from Kotkapura, the biggest city of district.

Police used batons and water cannons to disperse the protestors. Meanwhile, Bathinda's Inspector General of Police was also wounded during the clashes.

The police said they had arrested Sikh leaders including Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadriyan Wale, Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala, Panth Preet Singh, Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala and members of the Parmeshar Dwar Trust, Nirvair Khalsa Jatha and Ek Noor Khalsa Fauj.

Meanwhile, around 75 members of the Sikh community were also arrested in Ludhiana over fears that they could block roads, police said.

On Tuesday, a violent clash between the police and protesters at Buttar Kalan village in Moga district also left 19 people injured. Nearly 200 protestors belonging to the Sikh community were also arrested by policemen, who were later released.

Indian Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy Sukhbir Singh Badal appealed to the people to remain peaceful while heavy police force has been deployed in the district to avoid any untoward incident.

The CM assured people that those found guilty of sacrilege would not be spared.

Religion is the opium of masses and communal forces are successfully using this opium to divert people's attention from their real problems.
Mandela government was under substantial pressure due to peaceful agitation for compensation by farmer & labour unions. Generating communal violence in state is their old method of dismantling logical & harmonious protests because they know dull-witted people enjoys killing each other in the name of religion. Sometimes I think these brainless people deserves mistreatment by corrupt but intelligent politicians.
Latest update no. of dead people has increased to 5 now (including 2 policemen). There is a call for Punjab bandh tomorrow from fanatic organisations. People are fearing reversal of black days in Punjab. But national media is obviously silent on this issue because they think people of Punjab are enjoying 'acche din' under the rule of Nelson Mandela of India.

Leaders of Sant Samaj are orchestrating & leading these protests. Sant Samaj is in alliance with SAD in SGPC. They all are puppets of Badal.
First Police arrested all top Sants or leaders of Sant Samaj to save them and then fired & lathicharged on common public. All dead & injured are from ordinary & poor families. On the other hand religious leaders who provoked crowd are safe in Police rest houses.
Before blaming AAP you should remember that all Sikh religious bodies & Police are directly under control of Parkash Singh Mandela.
Now please tell me by which logic AAP in involved in this incident ?

So you think we punjabis are already enjoying 'acche din' & AAP will mess up whole thing in future. Get out of dreams buddy. Let me tell you what is real mess -
1. In last couple of months Indian Railway suffered loss of more than 100 crore due to train roko andolans of farmers & dera followers.
2 In last 60 days more than 50 farmers died due to suicide. All because of fake pesticides & seeds scandal.
3. Yesterday police sprayed bullets on sikh protesters but provided security to dera sirsa followers during their protests last month. As a result communal tensions are on uptrend in state.
Now please tell me what type of mess AAP created in Delhi ?
