KARACHI: At least two people were killed and 20 injured in a blast during Friday prayers at the gate of Saleh mosque for the Bohra community in Karachi’s Arambagh area on Friday.

Rescue teams and security personnel arrived at the site as efforts were underway to shift the injured to nearby hospitals.

DIG police Abdul Khaliq Shaikh confirmed that a timed device was planted in a motorcycle parked outside the gate of the mosque.

Windows of nearby shops and buildings were shattered due to the intensity of the blast.

Plumes of smoke were also seen rising from the site.

This mosque belongs to Dawoodi Bohra community and the area is Old City Area which happens to be biggest Business Hub of not only Karachi but whole Pakistan. Bohris have been subject to same threats in Karachi which Ismaili Sects in Karachi had been subject to in the past because of their their Beliefs but unlike most other Minorities they have always been Progressive and Play a major part in Karachi Business environment.

Its quite Disturbing situation because Minorities are already getting quite violent and Rangers are also involve in Operation in Karachi and MQM related Controversies on the basis of their stance of being Singled out of rest of other groups is also present some Trust related complications towards Agencies.
