PESHAWAR: Two suspected suicide bombers killed at least 40 people in an attack at the office compound of a senior government official in an area along Pakistan’s Afghan border on Monday, officials said.

“It appears to be a suicide attack. I don’t know the exact number of casualties because efforts are being made to remove debris,” Amjad Ali Khan, the top government official in the regiog, who appeared to be the target of the attack, told Reuters by telephone.

“There were two bombers. They were on foot. The first blew himself up inside the office of one of my deputies while the second one set off explosives when guards caught him.”

More than 100 people were believed to have been in the compound where government officials, allied tribal elders and members of local anti-Taliban militia were holding talks, leading to fears that the death toll could rise.

It was the second suicide attack in five months targeting Mohmand tribal elders allied to the government. On July 9, a suicide car bomb attack killed 105 people in the region’s town of Yakaghund.

“Routine security arrangements were in place. It is difficult to stop suicide bombers, they can go anywhere.”

RIP to the innocents. Very sad news indeed.

Pakistan has repeatedly Asked US and NATO to control Kumar and Nouristan. where these fanatics seek refuge when they come under pressure.
International media have reported that After NATO's leaveing Nouristan and Kunar , it has become hub of Takfiri Alqeada affiliated groups and of TTP

Kunar is Ruled by Zia ur Rehman he openly claims that he is helping Militants of Bajor, Swat and Mohmand

I am just speechless and fed up of hearing these news again n again...

We need peace even if we have to live in hunger

Since 2007 Pakistani Govt and Forces are saying Control Kunar and Nouristan but it appears US and NATO have removed them from Afghanistan's MAP

why they are letting Pakistan to suffer while calling themselves allies?

Well none of us are surprised either. This whole so called WOT revolves around the deceit and lies thanks to our so called allies in America and NATO. Thanks to them this whole region is fcuked up and people of Pakistan have to suffer due to their policies to ruin this world and specially this region.

Sad, once more the damn Taliban attack and kill innocents.

The only thing that can be done to stop all this is to cut its jugular vein, its main funding.

But that is something that our leaders cannot do anything about.
