ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's visit to Ankara, scheduled for today (Wednesday), was postponed at the last moment due to the ongoing relief and rescue operations in Turkiye following the devastating earthquake.

The real reason is highlighted, weather is being added just to save some face.

Express News, quoting official sources, reported that the prime minister was supposed to leave for Turkiye in the morning but the visit has been postponed due to bad weather and the Turkish leadership's engagements related to the ongoing rehabilitation efforts.

Sources added that PM Shehbaz would not be able to visit the affected areas as helicopter could not fly during bad weather, while the president and vice president of Turkiye are also engaged in relief activities.

The visit is expected to be rescheduled and the new dates will be anounced later.

Turkish Airlines have cancelled 170 flights scheduled yesterday, including 152 via Istanbul Airport and 18 via Sabiha Gokcen Airport as the city braces for snow, Anadolu news agency reported.

Yahya Ustun, Turkish Airlines' senior vice president for media relations, said Pegasus Airlines has also cancelled all its flights to Sabiha Gokcen Airport in Istanbul.

The cancellations come in accordance with directives from the Meteorological Emergency Committee (MADKOM), he added on Twitter.

Turkish authorities also closed schools in the capital, Ankara, and the city of Istanbul, due to bad weather. The cities are expected to witness a strong storm, rain and snow.

Turkey-Syria earthquake: Storms and freezing temperatures hamper rescue efforts

Storms and cold weather hampered search and rescue efforts in earthquake-hit areas of Turkey and Syria in the last 24 hours.

Storm Barbara brought strong winds, heavy rain and even snow to the devastated region, with daytime temperatures several degrees below average - leaving rescuers facing wet and freezing conditions as they work against the clock in the search for survivors.

Conditions look set to improve over the coming days but temperatures will remain low.

Lol posting news about commercial flights for an official PM visit. As in the express article, the visit postponed due to bad weather and Turkish govt being busy in earthquake relief. They have more important things to do at home.

Fittey moo on the establishment who brought this clown! This shows how low IQ our generals are.

These are the people supposed to decide the policy and fate of 220 million Pakistanis by the way

Who is the biggest fool? Sharif clan or the Pakistani ppl? Sure Sharif may be a coward, incompetent, a clown, a fool, but the people who accept such leaders are the biggest fools.
Khata hey tu lagata be hey 👏👏👏👏

In other words, the Turkish leaders told this Clown installed PM to stay in Pakistan and to NOT WASTE their times as Turkey had REALLY IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO RATHER FLYING THIS CLOWN AROUND IN A HELICOPTER ALL DAY and wasting their precious resources on this arse-hole when they can use the same helicopter to rescue many people.

This is the difference between a lawless corrupt country like Pakistan where the Corrupt, shameless Military Generals install such Stupid Clowns like Sharifs Vs a self-respecting country like Turkey where they geninuley care for their people.

Pakistani establishment wants idiotic corrupt clowns at the helm so they can be controlled.

Expect stupidity from boot polish cherry blossom beggars can't be Choosers Showbaz

Why was he even going there ?
Probably to do a photo-op, like NS did the last time a major earthquake struck Turkey.

He would have been better served sending his condolences via twitter, perhaps signing a book of condolences at the Turkish embassy and meeting the Turkish Ambassador in Islamabad alongside our nation’s best rescue team coordinator to see what Turkey needs most, pledging what ever support Pakistan can muster. Simple as that. Then go back to trying to fix the economy.

Clout chasing during a natural disaster :hitwall:

Turkey had a perfect opportunity to shoot down this clown and rid us of his and his handlers stupidity.

Every one is busy helping and rescuing their countrymen how can they arrange protocol for these morons ?

Neutrals par ?

Friends, we don't care who Pakistan chooses. Whoever is at the head of Pakistan, we have to respect him.

We had two very big earthquakes. At least 20,000 deaths are expected. There are thousands of corpses waiting under the rubble. Under these circumstances, it was very necessary to postpone the visit.
