Turkish Tank Sees Pakistani, Saudi Interest.

.
Meanwhile Pak hopes to produce and induct a more powerful variant -- AK-II..
What is that suppose to mean?

If we want to develop an advanced version of AK then we develop it.

Provide HIT with $50 million and they'll come up with a new reinforced turret, local sights and more, Placed on the same chassis.

.
I dont know how we wll fit a 120mm gun tank in a 125mm fleet. I will cause logistic problems. Pakistan should instead work with china to customise one of their latest tanks to our needs.

.
as ı remember we wil use their data bases ,methods and equipments for development tests.
i dont think they have knowhow about 1500 or 1800 hp diesel engines.
Yeap, exactly. Journalists don't know much about defense industry, engine industry. So, their titles could be often misleading.

But when you read the article you will see, they are talking about "getting technical support" not "transfer of technology".

.
the only possibility I think is fitting the Altay with the 125mm Gun from HIT and then the chances will be much higher for us procuring it cuz the Turkish subsystems are Great and Pakistan navy does use some of the turkish sub systems

Sounds like Pakistan should go For Ukrain China or South Korea :D :D

Wasn't Altay cost was $5.5-6 Million
SSM head İsmail Demir said; "We are foreseeing that the price of the single tank will be 1/40 of the project development cost."

Project development cost for Altay was; 550$ Million.

But like Baybars said... in that case 10 Altay cost = 1 F-35 cost.....seems too much.

It was reported that Germans will be selling Leopard A7 version equipped to teeth with every possible gadget to Saudi Arabia at a rate of 10 to 12 million dollars a piece. So, in case of Altay, a price tag of 13.75 million dollars per piece is really discouraging to say the least. 5-6 million dollars per piece makes sense and i will advocate buying around 300 of them provided it survives cruel desert tests. Otherwise, Pakistan should only focus on development of Al Khalid II incorporating high tech features of Altay for which an agreement may be reached between two brotherly countries especially for armour and Active protection system installed on Altay.

.
Actually Leopard 2A7's cost for SA is $15-17 million per tank. If you looking for modern tank which cost $5-6 million per tank, you are reading too much wiki. Only MTU engine's cost is around €1 milllion. $13.75 million is actually is a normal price for modern tank.
