Turkish Recording About the Warnings to SU-24

they says Russia airplane was in Turkey airspace for 17 seconds but the 10 warnings take over 90 seconds to be said.

something isn't adding up

Ther is no Statement about 17 seconds from Turkish side, as you can see the russian propaganda on tour.

Hi,

This shooting was totally not necessary----there was no reason---. So what if a minor incursion has taken place---Russia is not at war with Turkey----.

Russians are new to the area----their aircraft is an obsolete machine----mistakes can happen---. Russian aircraft are not attacking turkish aircraft---it was all exaggerated---.

I am pretty sure that either one of the pilots did not hear the communication or did not understand it---.

And then a missile shot from 60 KM----is that what I read in one of the posts---that is totally outrageous---. That is like murder---. The turkish aircraft should have closed in neck to neck and directed the ruissians to move out---go away----.

What could an outdated SU24 could do to an F16----.

I think that the Turks got an opportunity to EXECUTE the russians and that is what they did---even they had the opportunity to de-escalate the situation.

.
The question is why did they even need warnings from Turkey. Big news was made a while ago about Russia deploying and A-50 to Syria if Russia had a control aircraft wouldnt they be warning their own aircraft about airspace violations?

.
. And this time our pilot fired the missile from 60 km. And missile catched plane 1 km out of our borders.

From that distance---it looks more like an execution---. SU24 has nothing that could threaten the F16----.

Hi,

New in the area---obsolete equipment---language barrier----. Plus russia is not at war with turkey---so why so much aggression by turkey.

Even pakistan and india---except for 1999---don't shoot each others plane down or shoot each others choppers down---they just escort them out.

Right before getting shot down, it was there for 17 seconds. Otherwise, it was on and off there if you check out the radar plot.

Whats the point of saying that ?
If i have a 500 km BVR missile i will fired it from 400 km.
You can't simply get in your enemies range. That's how you patrol the airspace. You can't stay 1 km next to border for possible threats.

SU-24 isn't a match for the older blocks of F-16's, let alone Turkey's recently upgraded ones. The issue is that the plane trolled in and out for ten minutes, this is after there have been many violations like this before. The Russians are becoming aggressive and have been flying over certain parts of Eastern Europe with total immunity. They tried to do so with Turkey too, and this time, it was retaliation time. Since this event, the Russian planes have been respecting the 10KM buffer zone.

I think this was done as a plan, I think they thought the jet wouldn't be downed due to Russia being a bigger power. They probably thought their jets would be harassed and that would give them a reason to put their advance SAMs there.

The Russians aren't here for the ISIS alone. If I am reading the game right, they just established their first Middle Eastern air-force base, this will have serious complications for NATO alliance in terms of now having the Russians RIGHT there. On one side, challenging NATO / Turkey, and on the other, challenging Israel, and Bashar gets to stay no matter what.

The Russians just sent over 50 combat ready battle tanks too, in addition to several batteries of S-400 SAMs,0 so these deployments tell me, this is a permanent (or long term) Russian military base in the Middle East, primarily, to protect Iran and Syria and keep Israel and NATO in check. This is all crazy developments IMO, and very high risk for the entire globe.

The warning come 57Km (or 30Nm) out of NATO continental Air Space, It's a standard NATO Operational Protocol. The first few warning is to warn the aircraft they are approaching NATO Air Space, and advice them to change course, the later warning will include action taken (like escort or firing) and up until the Su-24 stroll into Turkish Air Space.

Once the aircraft enter the Turkish Airspace, basically it's up to turkey what they want to do, they can intercept the aircraft or like this time, shoot at the aircraft. And they can also declare a hot pursuit and enter Syrian airspace to make sure the Su-24 is gone or shot down.

Nice analysis.
It's off topic but i like to read what your expectations for the selection ?
All i know is Trump gonna win and he likes Putin/Russia.

We warned Russians from 30 mile . And they keep coming to 1 km. And two plane violated the border and we still warned them and after that both plane left our airspace. But again 1 plane violated the border 4 km . And this time our pilot fired the missile from 60 km. And missile catched plane 1 km out of our borders. Thats it.

Think's NATO SOP is to warn incoming UFO 30 nautical mile (57km) out, not 30 mile (46 Km)

Hi,

Well that would mean an execution---plain and simple----. We already know that there is a language barrier---we already know that the opponent is in an obsolete aircraft---we already know that there might be a good chance that the transmission may not go thru properly.

So---why not fly your superior aircraft next to that old dog and point at him to move out---.

@Viper0011.

If russia had already done that and was doing it again then it means it was inciting for trouble---. They set up a trap and Turkey fell right into it.

So---now the Nato Patriot missiles have been pulled out of Turkey---and Russia brings in S400 into Syria--right next door---. It is also going to bring more troops and assets---so whose failure of strategy it is---.

My call is that Turkey has miserably failed in the arena----. They wanted to keep their lilly white ar-ses nice and clean and away from trouble at a time when they should have jumped in and curbed the terrorists right from the word go----but in waiting and trying to keep their hands clean---they have ended up in a bigger mess than they ever dreamed oof.

This aircraft shooting down was a decision made in anger---in anxiety---and the reason given shows total callousness---.

How many times the russian aircraft have flown inside british coastline---or inside U S coastline---or how many times russian aircraft have buzzed U S navy ships real close---?

You are mixing many things here, that go very separate due to the nature of their origin. Let's dissect one by one:

1) I don't think the Turks fell into a trap. I do agree it was a trap. But, I also can tell you that this was one of those situations that damn if you do, and damn if you don't. In other words, the Russians had been violating Turkey's airspace for a while. And it was becoming a daily thing. This was primarily to irritate NATO like they've been doing around Denmark, Begium, Finland and around Alaska.

But here, you had more than NATO on Russia's mind. These were instructions per Assad probably to irritate Turkey and violate their airspace to show the Russian power. If Turkey act like a servant, then Russia, Assad and Iran win. If Turkey tried to harass airspace violation flights, then Russia would bring in missiles that can pose a threat to Turkish AF inside Turkey. So Tukey had to make a call. In fact, the call made, was beyond the Russian calculation. They actually took down their jet.

Which was a clear message that if you want to fukk with us, you are looking at a serious fight. Russia got it right away and their planes have been following the 10KM buffer rules. This isn't a Russian plane down. This is Turks telling Russia, if you come in our neighborhood and tried to be the Don, it won't be without a tough fight. So lets be prepared. The message was understood very well. In fact, all other messages would've been taken with lower intensity.

2) The US Coastline issue with the Russian jets, or fly overs at the USN, are ALL peacetime activities. During Combat Ready scenario, no hostile jet enters a three hundred mile radius around the CBG. Let alone violating airspace. Anything or everything is taken out from 300 or more miles away. Standard operating procedures.

This here is a war like situation and you'll see these issues popping up. Didn't Russian Mig-29's locked onto Turkish jets a couple of months ago? And harassed them for four minutes? So all that patience had to come out in a strong message and it happened.

Will the PAF let IA's MKI troll close to Islamabad or Lahore for ten minutes?
