Turkish PM suspends all ties with Israel

I don't know what you meant, but you can sink terrorist ship in international water.

Come on jdme you are off topic again. this is about turkey cutting ties with israel for israeli excesses

.
LOL! israel has right to sink a ship in international waters, just because they are "terrorists"
Just because they ram a legal blockade:

5.2.10 Blockade
Blockade, i.e. the interdiction of all or certain maritime traffic coming from or going to a port or coast of a belligerent, is a legitimate method of naval warfare. In order to be valid, the blockade must be declared, notified to belligerent and neutral States, effective and applied impartially to ships of all States. A blockade may not bar access to neutral ports or coasts. Neutral vessels believed on reasonable and probable grounds to be breaching a blockade may be stopped and captured. If they, after prior warning, clearly resist capture, they may be attacked.

There goes Turkey's chance to join the EU and perhaps they need to revist allowing turkey as a part of NATO. Btw- I find it hypocritical of Turkey to feign " human rights" when they slaughter the kurds... I guess its If I kill= Bad terrorist but if they kill Jews= Good terrorist ?

We are using the very process and requirements for membership of the EU to improve our nation so in effect it is Turkey that is using the EU :chilli:

We will however genuinely continue at our efforts to get into the EU since our entry into the EU will give us control of this organization within a decade of our entry since our population is growing and the EU member giants of Germany and France are not. The European parliament allocates seats based on nation populations (intended to give permanent rule for the Franco-Germans) making eventually Turkish law into European law and the first thing that Turkey will do is end Greek armed forces (emboldened idiotically by their membership in a TRADE alliance & not a military alliance lol) illegal incursions into sovereign Turkish borders and set the Aegean sea borders of our nations to a permanent 6nm since Greeks demand an increase of their sea borders to 12nm (but are held back by a casus bell) maliciously seeking to end the economic importance and unique nature of Istanbul by restricting mercantile maritime traffic (it will be just another city since only ships allowed by the Greek government will be allowed to approach Istanbul). We will also make law that Greece must give religious freedom to all minorities in her borders but ultimately Greek fears are invalid since being a EU member means the eventual integration and communal cohabitation as a single community.

It's ok if we dont get into the EU as we will simply continue on our road of economic development
(which started improving after 1990 when the USSR collapsed since Turkey no longer had to support effectively a war economy where it was literally going broke purchasing vast numbers of weapons to confront the Soviet (Europeans at this time were busy building their fundamentally flawed economies counting on Turkey, UK & the US to save them if worse comes to worse)).

The UK wants us in the EU as it naturally gravitates towards the Turks (a fellow major border state to the European mainland) like in the past to curb the power of the Franco-German alliance, Sweden & Italy as well as a few others support our efforts because studies show that if the EU unifies member military forces into a single military power it will not be a true superpower without Turkey) some studies show that (also supported below) if Turkey was to be permanently rejected or barred from EU membership then it may possibly go and build it's own economic and military power bloc and the EU in the future will have not only the Russians to deal with but an angry quasi superpower in the Aegean, the loser in this situation will be the EU as oil flows from Russia into the EU and oil flows from Arabia/Caucasus(Azerbaijan) into Turkey then into the EU.

We already have links both economic and military to many many countries in our region which include surprisingly Russia so the EU is not necessarily a must join club for us but an option for our growth. The Turkish union is a reality and Turkish countries meet every year for talks on cooperation. Do you know that Turkish influence is so vast that every time you purchase a specific model of car (If memory serves well it is the Fiat brand) in Europe your actually contributing a small amount of the money spent on the vehicle to the Turkish Armed Forces :)

The EU requires Turkey who's population is growing and where the average age of the population is below 30, our young population gives us the potential for massive purchasing power & if we were members today the financial crisis of the EU would have not been so devastating (Irony for our rejection?).

We dont want the EU, we dont need the EU but it needs us and membership would still be sweet so why the heck not continue try and enter the xenophobic Christians-only club called the EU? :P

.
Or anyone that disagrees with you, right?
To all that didn`t know, the Turkish PM backtracked and said that only the Government to Government ties were suspended and not private trade.
Which means nothing has changed and the trade between the countries is still the same.

Plan C will be private ties trade will be suspended.. Wait and see.

We have all seen the video. I am pretty sure "execution" has different meaning. Stop playing with words. These people defended their "ship" and died a hero. Turkey should send more of such heroes. Perhaps you will join them?

Ignorance at it's best!!! Execution does not imply mass murder! One person can be executed as well as an entire group the context of the sentence is important and since the meaning of the sentence is crystal clear your either:

1. Ignorant of English (unlikely since you seem to be communicating to us in English).
2. Having been caught up by your weak claims you now seek to defend yourself by weakening the questioned addressed to you as you have done here.

Based on the fact that your communicating in English I am a 100% sure that you fit in at number 2.

Cheers, next time dont assume people wont pick up on your deception to stray away from the question asked to you :)

. . .
to end trade ties comes a day after the Turkish minister of economy had said that bilateral commercial ties would continue as usual, Al Jazeera's Serpil Karacan reported from Istanbul.

Doesn't this bring some sort of conflict between the economy minister and the PM?

The prime minister also hinted at a possible visit to Gaza, though adding that no final decision had been made yet.

Heavens knows where Erdogan is heading with that sort of obsession for that place...he really needs to give it a rest.

This is arguably the most ridiculous post in this thread..What does Turkish Secularism has to do with Turkey's relation with Israel?Turkey is cutting relations not because Israel is Jewish nation..It is cutting relations because of the fact that Israelis killed 8-9 Turkish Civilians.

Perhaps you didn't read properly. I was responding to Mosamania suggestion that the local Turkish population have always disliked Israel, even BEFORE this whole ship episode happen.

Let's be frank with ourselves, at this age, the only people I see bitterly hating Israel are the Palestinians/Arabs (justified given their history) and mostly Muslims from far away lands who try to find attachment to Palestinians on the basis of Muslim brotherhood.

For me, I have nothing against Israel. As a humanist/secularist first, this whole conflict is no different from other regional conflict happening in the world (Chechnya, Kashmir, Sri Lanka, Mindanao, Xinjiang, South Thailand and etc). If I were to start hating Israel, I'll also have to start hating India, Russia, Sri Lanka, Philliphines, China

For the same reason, I believe a TRUE secularist from Turkey would have no reason to hate Israel more than any other countries embroiled in a a messy regional conflict. (Before this whole flotilla thing happened)

There are more Muslims being killed daily in terrorist attacks and various other regional conflict around the world. How come they never seem to get as much attention as the Palestinians? Every life is just as valuable as the other.

Israel and Palestine are involve in a messy regional conflict, it's way too complicated to say that one side is good and the other side is bad. Let's all hope that senses and peace prevails :)

The fight started when bunch of crazy terror supportes decided to ram a legal blockade.

Israel had right to sink that ship.

IDF soldiers were stubbed.

its legal? can you go tell a palestinians that their suffer is legal?
just like the attack on USS liberty was also legal?

Heavens knows where Erdogan is heading with that sort of obsession for that place...he really needs to give it a rest.

A very nice tactic to divert attention from Syria.. New found love for Gaza will make him a hero in the eyes of Arabs while civilians will keep getting slaughtered by Assad's regime in his next door and no one will take notice because they will be busy cursing Israel.. This diversionary technique is a favorite for so called similar minds..

I have heard this a no. of times here and have seen Israelis defending this action...

USS Liberty was sailing without US Flag on..IsN and IsAF were ordered to shoot down and sink any unknown aircraft/ship in that area.. Israel had mistaken the USS Liberty as an Egyptian warship because of its speed and sunk it thinking the same.
CIA had even intercepted the calls made by the helicopter pilots after the mission that they had sunk the egyptian ship..It was only after some time that they saw the US flag ..
