They blocked the safe zones plans, didnt keep their promises regarding money,upgrade to customs union and visa free travel and on top of that sanctioned Turkey because operation peace spring which was intented to settle the refugees there. Now they are quiet while Russia and Assad is forcing millions of refugees onto turkeys borders and not one peep comes from them so that is most likely real

and from a rational point of view this also Turkeys chance to get rid of 1-1.5 million refugees in the short term with short term costs~

with that we are dealing with the hypocrisy of the Europeans but

the Russians and Assad killed turkish soldiers and thats where the focus has to be, the borders should be open 24/365 anyway

The actual mistake in the first place was to stop the refugees from going to Europe. These euros will never get their own hands dirty. They started the war and now they refuse to own it. Give them a million more refugees so that they taste their own medicine. The refuges will also pray for turkey for an opportunity to live in Europe.

I think the best outcome is if Turkey and Russia blame this on Assad strikes. Turkey is then allowed to 'respond' by striking regime targets, which gives the public the illusion that justice has been done. Then Erdogan pulls the soldiers back home and can support the rebels by other means.

It's quite obvious to anyone now that it's unsustainable for Turkish soldiers to stay where they are under the crazy operational mandate of basically being sitting ducks for Russian air strikes. You can't fight a war against Russia.

The difference is the way these events are promoted by the media. When US killed 100 Russians two years ago, noone talked about it(at least at the begining). Now everyone talk about this event and they maximize its impact. Lets not forget that Assad has lost not 22 but 300.000 soldiers from the begining of this conflict
