Turkish Naval Programs

Not even close, in fact,the statement becomes so ridiculous when they're actually buying German submarines.

Well he actually never said "We are at a level where we can match Germany with submarine" (poor google translate)

What he says is; "Engineering infrastructure of the Naval Forces Command has reached a level comparable to those of German engineers (in term of designing submarines.)"

From this statement i understand that now, we can design submarines (which is the pinnacle of naval platforms in terms of design.) However, i think that it is a very bold claim to say that we reached the level of Germany.

The submarines that are prodeced by Germany for Turkey has more than 80 percent Turkish indiginious part.

I always wondered how do they scale the percentage.

Is it;

Turkish Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul as saying that Turkish industrial participation in the project would be worth around 80 percent of the total value of the deal.

The HDW will preassemble structural and mechanical parts of the submarines, or classified elements such as the fuel cells and propulsion systems, in Germany and then ship them to Turkey, according to the report.

All electronic and weapon systems, including sensor, communications, and data processing systems, will be designed and produced by the Turkish side.

The Milden picture and maquette introduced by SSM is merely an artist impression yet as conceptual design features are still discussed. After the preliminary design phase the real look of the Milden sub will become visible and detail design phase will follow.

I think the conceptual design outside, on the main lines - TN describes capabilities -, is almost finished (90%). There are physical and aerodynamic rules unavoidable.

No tests, no substantial statements about these projects

What is the time table for Turkish frigates, destroyers, naval cruise missiles and submarines? We know that Turkish LPD is under development and is due for trial run by 2021. But for other products, its more of air talk as of this point (especially submarines, naval cruise missile and destroyers)

Naval projects are under high risk of Greek espionage. So not expect many information but very little.
