Iranians are very patient as our handicraft "carpet" ...it takes time but outcome is outstanding.
isreal is seeking engaging Iran in wars and Iran knows it very well and would do whatever it takes to address issues through diplomatic ways ... remember in Syria they were about to take Damascus airport and its runway was on direct fire ..
For sure Azarbayjan is after occupation of Armenia lands but Iran would not let it happen due to its consequences for Iran.
Stop the cap.... If Azerbaijan did something, Iran would just sit and watch for Russia and NATO interventions and sanctions. Iran cannot stop anything outside of Iraq without intervention of superpower.

You know what comes next, right? "Iran occupies Azerbaijan lands! Azeri brothers, stand up and fight!". Next target might be Iranian Azerbaijan. If they ever managed to annex all of Armenia, which I don't think will happen. It would shock the world and turn everyone against Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Of course, I did not read your long and unnecessary article.

Regretful. You might probably have learnt a thing or two which mainstream media won't tell you about Iran-Baku relations.

I only saw the last part. We will soon open the Zangezur corridor and nothing will happen.

You just did what you had been invited to avoid: offer mere talk deprived of concrete manifestation in ground reality, like various colleagues of yours in the Iranian section have been doing for over a year and counting.

Do you realize this won't reflect all too brilliantly on the regime in Baku, nor on Turkey for that matter, if you keep rehashing "soon this will happen, soon that will happen" type of rhetoric over a sustained period of time? I'd like to ask, in earnest, how soon is your "soon" going to take effect this time around?

Rather than flooding the Iranian section with what amounts to actual unnecessary content, why don't you all simply lay back and let it happen, after which you'd be welcome to return and open thread number 1000 on the subject. Until then however, all this does is to waste everyone's time and on top of it, makes Turkey and the Baku republic appear like all talk and no action entities.

One of their problems was that the Revolutionary regime didn't trust the Army. Interestingly, the Pasdaran didn't use ways to pass important information, that could be decrypted. They used people to pass on important messages to officers and units.
They did that because they didn't want the Army to know their moves, but it turned out that Iraqis too didn't know the Pasdarans' plans and operations. They did manage to decrypt and intercept plans of the regular Army often, but they couldn't figure out the IRGC,because of that tactic.

Now,yes the two of them didn't cooperate well and often and that was problematic for Iran. The other reason for their massive casualties was that Iraq had crazy defences around Basra and Baghdad and they couldn't take these cities. So it was like a stalemate. Of course,Saddam used chemical weapons too when Iranians were going to overrun important defences inside Iraq.

Casualties weren't that massive in said war. Iran gave slightly more than 200.000 martyrs (all branches of the military and civilians included). There's a well funded organization with considerable technical means that has been keeping track of all the casualties of the revolutionary struggle and subsequent conflicts Iran has been involved in, the Martyrs Foundation (Bonyade Shahid), which is also in charge of implementing welfare measures for the martyrs' next of kin. Even added fatalities on both sides do not reach a million.

For most of their duration, the eight years of conflict saw little amounts of heavy fighting along the front lines, another aspect most people aren't aware of. Fighting experienced periodic peaks during a series of very large offensives and counter-offensives. For longer periods in between these, intensity remained relatively low.

To the Iranians and Turks, a war between Iran and Turkey will be a disaster for both nations, it will set you both 50 years back. Afterwards foreign powers will dominate the region. A stupid idea I say.

Regarding the corridor, it will most likely be established. Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia joint control, it will connect all nations, allow them to trade, give them all billions of economic benefit.

Iranians have no say in this matter.

Each of these long-a'ss 'Iran stronk11!!1' postings are a revelation, basically windows into your souls.

These are nothing but the outcome of a deeply buried and denied fact in our fellow Iranian members subconscious minds:

They simply know for a fact that Türkiye is not Israel nor Saudi Arabia and they're hopelessly weak compared to their northern neighbour.

You might be able to hurt Turkiye but at what cost? Leaving you with nothing but a Syrian-style pile of rubble.

Accept your faith. Iran cannot counter Turkiye directly - never.

Very true.. If the war had been under the control of the pre-revolution Iranian army, death toll would probably have not pass above 50 thousand. IRGC was pure fanatic and they were passionate about martyrdom.
On the other hand, the mullahs prolonged the war for unrealistic goals such as taking even Karbala from Iraq.

There was no defined war objective along those lines.

The reason Iran rejected ceasefire proposals in the early 1980's is because they were genuinely sub-par. In these proposals for example Iraq wasn't willing to recognize its responsibility in starting the war.

Iranians have no say in this matter.

Right. Baku's forces are holding off on marching into Zangezur of their own volition. Iran's position on the matter has nothing to do with it... sure.

Wait a minute, what makes you say that? Iran is capable of fighting Turkey 1 vs 1.

Can they win? I don't know. That's another thing. Maybe yes, maybe no. But can they give Turkey a hard time, provided of course the war remains mostly between Turkey and Iran without interfence from other countries.

Well as I said after corridor there would be other things ... they've already talked about south Azerbaijan releasing map threatening us... letting them to create the corridor would make them more aggressive .. they have issues with Greece, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Armenia and Russia almost all their neighbors ....
The point is even the name is Persian Azar means fire and Baijan (Baiigan) means guardian which means guardian of holy fire ... but these people have made a fake history and nation around it and trying make trouble ... but who cares? maybe motherland calls for separated part ...

You do know that at the turn of the millennium the Turkish Air Force bombed Iranian territory even resulting in death? Do you think Iran could do the same with Türkiye?
