Most of the Bengali Muslim came to present day Bangladesh after forming of the country if they were not already living in there. Hence Bangladesh inherited the legacy of Bengali Muslim. So it doesn’t matter what Bakhsal tried to achieve only at certain point of time. Plus liberation war of Bangladesh happened when Pakistani occupational force started to kill innocent civilians instead of handing over the power to legitimate winner of the election.

The dynamics of Bangladesh-India and Pakistan-India relations are different.

Pakistan and India are sworn enemies for various reasons and neither party is innocent.

Bangladesh's only major dispute with India is regarding watersharing which cannot be resolved through war.
Ignore the rhetorics on border killings as 99% of those shot are smugglers getting shot inside Indian territory. These smugglers are far from innocent as they bring in diseased cows threatening Banagladesh's livestock and often react violently with weapons when approached by border guards.

India is still a threat to Bangladesh but an actual war is very unlikely due to lack of grounds.

Pakistan has an out of control military and intelligence agency with an affinity for Islamist extremism wherever they get involved. Bangladesh has its reasons for keeping a safe distance from Pakistan hence an outright alliance is out of question.

There is also rampant India obsession among jingoistic Pakistanis which is why they are unable to comprehend how Bangladesh can have a relatively normal relationship with India and hence all the name calling (subservience, etc.).

Bangladesh's strategy to counter India will always be different to that of Pakistan for the above reasons.

Now you can see how jealous the jingoistic types are at Turkey and Bangladesh improving relations. They are clutching straws to delegitimise the historical ties inhabitants of present day Bangladesh and Turkey have had.

I have copies of The Comrade 1912, the donations were from Dacca, Lahore , Rampur, Madras etc. We were one at that time, the Hindustani Musalman.
