What's new

Turkey 'has spent $5,5 billion on Syrian community"

Put a majority of them across the border. Mount snipers, lockdown the border and declare it a military zone. Move necessary military assets to the area. Engage all hostiles. Trust me it would cost way less than 5.5 $ billion
Thats what the goverment is talking about since years, imagine we do it, you would hear New Ottoman Empire bla bla bla from usual suspects, they even blame us for everything even thought we didnt do much yet.

To do something like that you need serious political backing just as US did with Coalition in Iraq 2003 and 2014, and since AKP screwed our FP good luck with this...

We could deal with the blowback. Can't as bad as Kobane was, atleast we could give economic justification or even suggest Europe take them if they feel so strongly about it.

Although I agree that out FP has been seriously wrong and that it needs patching up.

In Istanbul you can see them at every intersection, ending up at your car's window asking money. At every subway station, at pretty much every central areas in the city. Most of them don't even have shoes, wandering around and begging on barefoot. They are mostly woman and children though. It is rare to see the man.

I don't understand why they let them into the big cities like that. They are living in misery and I really feel sorry for them. $5.5 billion was not enough apparently. Not even close. We're doing something wrong.

Bro you have to put yourself in their shoes. What if the same thing happened in your country? These people don't want to pick sides in the war and just want to keep their families safe from danger so they have no choice but to escape to Turkey. On one side is the Syrian government and on the other side are the various armed groups. They have no choice but to leave to Turkey. They don;t have the basic life necessities and they cant go to sleep without worrying if they will wake up alive or not. It would be cruel not to help people like that.

When people are in need of help,we have to help, there is no alternative.
And bragging about how much money we have spend to help them is bs.
Who cares about numbers,if you can you help,if you cant, you dont.

I see your points and they are valid. But there is the other side of the coin brother: our economy is sluggish, we are restructuring our armed forces, we are planning huge projects such as nuclear power plants and mega construction projects...this all requires money. Yet here we are spending amazing amounts of money to feed people that for the most part contribute nil. They are becoming a burden and that burden must be decreased gradually until it is eliminated.

I see what your saying but you have to take care of people, besides they would come into the country one way or another anyway. In the U.S there are 12 million + illegal immigrants that are unregistered, the Syrians in Turkey are registered so that is good.
