What's new

Turkey defense minister travelled to Russia today and met with Russia defense minister

Turks earn TL , not Euro
and 15.000€ = 102.000 TL How many italians can afford to spend 102.000€ for vacation?

of course you are middle class. :D you can not afford to spend 102.000€ for vacation

1 dollar has risen to 6,9 TL from 2,8 TL in Turkey between 16.07.2016 and 16.08.2018

It's risen more than 245% in the past two years , because of the US,Israel,Germany,France backed Pkk/Ypg/FETO terrorist attacks on Turkey and Economic and Political War with the US

so Countries are sorted by Nominal GDP estimates from financial and statistical institutions, which are calculated at market or government official exchange rates Nominal GDP does not take into account differences in the cost of living in different countries, and the results can vary greatly from one year to another based on fluctuations in the exchange rates of the Country's currency

but GDP PPP takes into account the relative cost of local goods, services and inflation rates of the country, rather than using International Market exchange rates which may distort the real differences in per capita incom

GDP PPP by 2017 , 12. Italy $2,307 trillion and 13. TURKEY $2,132 trillion

Italy has over $2 trillion of external debt , Turkey has only $440 billion of external debt

The turkish external debt rises with each percent the Lira falls. Thats the problem of Turkey amigo ;) That the Lira is soft as jelly while the debt is hard as steel.

You work at Airbus and earn less than the lowest job in Switzerland?

I had my apprenticeship at Airbus and earned 1500 there. I work for an airline now as my apprenticeship is over and i´m a mechanic. In Italy my income is considered very good. :)

Yes i know this is a good salary for Italy, thats why im saying most Italians also cant afford a holiday for 15000 Euro.
Im just curious why a airline mechanic earns less than a cleaning lady in Switzerland.

Turkey has since made major contributions to NATO. during the Cold War, Turkey helped constrain the Soviet Navy in the Mediterranean, provided one of the largest armies in Europe and hosted key NATO military facilities
Turkey have also extracted tremendous benefits from its NATO membership across all fronts from security to economic, over time.

US shielded Turkey from the prospects of invasion by USSR throughout the Cold War. FYI: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_Straits_crisis

-- Turkey has the 2nd largest Army in NATO after the US Army
True, but UK and France are nuclear powers.

-- Turkish Army was in Kosovo , Bosnia , Lebanon , Somali , Afghanistan , etc
Much like any other NATO member.

-- Turkey control Bosphorus only gate way to the Black Sea for NATO against Russia
Turkey is no longer effective as a member of NATO in this sector. Russia have registered noticeable advances in the Black Sea by annexing Abkhazia and South Ossetia from Georgia in 2008, and Crimea from Ukraine in 2014. Russia also have a strong footprint in Syria since 2015.

Turkey is a toothless tiger in the face of Russian advances around it. I remember the days when Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was threatening Syria with dire consequences:

https://nationalinterest.org/commentary/why-does-turkey-want-regime-change-syria-7227
http://www.spiegel.de/international...t-syrian-regime-over-downed-jet-a-841053.html

Funny really! Erdoğan has earned the moniker of Mr. U-Turn.

Erdoğan wants to deploy S-400 systems in Turkey as well. This is like rubbing salt over the injuries of NATO.

-- The United States, Great Britain and other members of the international community are now working closely with Turkey to bring peace to Afghanistan, the Middle East and other global hotspots
-- Turkey Kurecik Base to host American AN/TPY2 Radar ( NATO's early warning radar missile system )
-- Turkey Incirlik Airbase is very important for The US/NATO to operate in Iraq,Syria
-- Turkey saved Europe from 3 millions of Syrian refugees
These are true.

on the other hand The US/NATO support Pkk/Ypg/FETO Terrorists against Turkey
US recognize PKK as a terrorist organization at official capacity: https://www.state.gov/j/ct/rls/other/des/123085.htm

ISIS reared its ugly head in Syria and Iraq in 2013, and offered greatest challenge to the security of the world after Al-Qaeda Network, much bigger than PKK. US needed boots on the ground to confront this menace and established SDF in Syria for this end.

FYI: https://www.newsdeeply.com/syria/ar...gins-of-the-syrian-democratic-forces-a-primer

SDF wasn't possible without unprecedented support of Kurd, fortunately or unfortunately.

Turkey's beef with YPG is legitimate but neither US and nor Turkey have easy choices to make in Syria. NATO make extensive use of Incirlik base in Turkey to confront ISIS in Syria and Iraq (i.e. Operation Inherent Resolve) and also to monitor Kurdish activity in the region. US have prevented major clashes between YPG and Turkey because these developments could jeopardize US-led assault against ISIS in Syria, and destabilize the region even further. When you have snakes in your backyard, it is better to kill the big ones first. Smaller snakes can be dealt with later.

You just talk some bullshit bro :D

Does your cleaning lady only has to spend 500 € per month for food and bills ect as well?

My girlfriend works in a bank and has 2090 €.

In Italy a cleaning lady gets like 650 €.

You in Italy will surely live better than a cleaning lady in switzerland i mean cleaning is a jobs with no skills while airline mechanic does require skills, its just that i would have expected your salary to be something like 3.500 Euro or something the way you talk here. The unofficial minimum salary here is around 3.500 Fr.

You have a interesting job btw, im just not sure if i would trust my plane in your hands, you would probably unscrew the wings and make me crash because im not european. :D

My salary is actually 3800 €. But taxes and unemployment insurance, health care fees ect are taken and the amount i said is what gets transferred on my bank account. I dont know how say in english. You understand what i mean?

As for your 2nd sentence...do you think thats fair? To judge my competence in my job because my political opinion? I guarantee you that i always try to do my best at my job. Regardless of politics. We may disagree in politics but should not judge others work and profession.

typical idiocy. USA has more debt, Japan much more.

EU is biggest economy worldwide and the continent with the highest living standards. Debt is meaningless. If you have much debt, the bank has a problem, not you.

Thats also the reason why Turkey crumbles. Its too small to be saved. They judge the effect of its economical collapse and see it as not worthy to be put under guarantees.

Hmm well this makes more sense, here they dont cut that much from salary only insurances and pension, you pay a lot taxes it seems because 1500 euro cut from salary, outch.

I was joking.

Turkey have also extracted tremendous benefits from its NATO membership across all fronts from security to economic, over time.

Turkey lost $1 trillion because of fighting against the US/NATO backed terrorist groups such as PKK/YPG and FETO and the US/NATO backed Military coups in 1960,1971,1980, last one in 2016

We have to pay alot of taxes for our wonderful bridges, state officials pensions and all of that ;)

Isn´t Italy great regarding that?

Well i also make roughly 1000 € additional with fitness coaching. I win bodybuilding competitions and with that make PR. I take online customers and customers in Lucca. Make them training and food plans and get between 800 and 1000 € per month from that...Without taxes and stuff taken from it *cough*

Turkey interest payments:

56.7 bln liras out of 677.7 = 8.4%

As you can see UK has no any problem to serve its debts.

Yes typical idiocy ,,, and stop dreaming with your broke EU
EU has over 100 million of poor population , EU has over $30 trillion of external debt

and The US has $19 trillion of external debt ( only 94% of GDP )
Japan has $3,5 trillion of external debt ( only 74% of GDP )

on the other hand Netherlands has $4,5 trillion of external debt ( 522% of GDP )
Ireland has $2,3 trillion of external debt ( 6300% of GDP )
Belgium has $1,278 trillion of external debt ( 265% of GDP )
France has $5,6 trillion of external debt ( 213% of GDP )
Italy has $2,5 trillion of external debt ( 124% of GDP )
Germany has $5,3 trillion of external debt ( 141% of GDP )
Spain has $2,3 trillion of external debt ( 167% of GDP )
Portugal has $447 billion of external debt ( 216% of GDP )
Greece has $476 billion of external debt ( 228% of GDP )
Sweden has $938 billion of external debt ( 177% of GDP )

TURKEY has $453 billion of external debt ( only 53 % of GDP )

True, but UK and France are nuclear powers.

Turkey can develop nuclear weapon in 6 months , no problem

Russia is nothing in the Black Sea or in Syria against Turkey but Russia is not enemy to Turkey

Turkey control over the Bosporus Straits and the Dardanelles and regulates the transit of naval warships
Turkey can block bosphorus , then the US can not enter to the Black Sea
also Turkey can close bosphorus to Russian Navy

but there are no reasons to expect that the straits would be closed

so there are 2 important countries for the US in the region , Turkey and Egypt

-- Turkey control over the Bosporus Straits and the Dardanelles
-- Egypt control Suez Canal
