Turk-Russian Approach: Russia is ready to offer joint production of Su-57 fighters to Ankara

It's a political message.

It is also a very effective propaganda tool for the Russian defense industry. (The first foreign leader to visit the Su-57 cockpit.)

However, Turkey does not have a plan, such as SU-57 procurement.

ps: As far as I know, the main focus of Russian and Turkish authorities is the common helicopter projects.

. . . . . . . .
No it's not.

Turkey will ditch the F-35 and go for Su-57.

F-35 was gonna replace the f-5's Aka Turkish bomber Fleet if you really believe an air superiorty fighter can replace f-35 I dont know what to say... we will wait for TFX... until than a western fighter might be a stop gap soliton... but no SU-57...

I don't know what the Turkish government is thinking to replace the multi-roles with, don't know if there is replacement. But it looks like Turkey will go for Su-57 for sovereignty reasons.

When the S-400 saga was going on, I said in this forum Turkey will go for S-400 no matter what the US does, and it came true.

I feel Erdogan is playing the reverse game. He does not want the F-35 which will be totally under US control and can't probably be used against Greece or Israel. So, I think Erdogan did everything that will ensure US stops supplying the F-35. Now after the S-400, if the US changes it's policy and wants to supply F-35, I think Erdogan will make another move that will infuriate US and they will stop F-35 again. Su-57 may be that move.

Turkey will either go for tfx and get assisted by Russia or they will go joint venture with Russia or they will get su57 with tot.

The truth is if we add our electronic capacity we can create a monster from basic SU-57... afterall russian jets real problem is their electronic capacity And we Turks we are good at that... you might ask, so why you think Thats not gonna happen? Plain And simple, SU-57 doesnt have a place in our doctorine until 2030's... we will replace our f-16's after that... until than it will be so expensive And useless...
russian assistance in TFX might be possible... russians engines for TFX might be possible but SU-57 itself? Not gonna happen.
