بمناسبة الاحتفال بالذكرى الثانية للثورة التونسية تفتح المتاحف العسكرية أبوابها مجانا للعموم بكامل تراب الجمهورية باستثناء متحف الذاكرة الوطنية بالسيجومي الذي يشهد أشغال تهيئة وتطوير وذلك ابتداء من يوم الجمعة 11 والى غاية 15 جانفي 2013.
وقامت وزارة الدفاع قامت بهذه المبادرة بهدف تشجيع المواطنين لاسيما منهم الأطفال والشباب على التعرف على أبرز المحطات في التاريخ العكسري الوطني في تونس من خلال الاطلاع على محتويات هذه المتاحف التي تروى مسيرة الجندي التونسي من العهد القرطاجني مرورا بالعصر الحديث ووصولا إلى ثورة 14 جانفي 2011 وسيتمكن زوار المتاحف بهذه المناسبة من اكتشاف مكونات كل من المتحف العسكرى الوطني قصر الوردة بمنوبة الذي يحفظ أكثر من 21 ألف قطعة أثرية من تجهيزات عسكرية وأسلحة وأزياء تعود إلى مختلف فترات التاريخ العسكرى المجيد لتونس.
ويمكن للمواطنين زيارة متحف خط مارث بطريق مدنين بالجنوب والذي يشهد موقعه الجغرافي على معارك الحرب العالمية الثانية التي شهدتها تونس لا سيما منها معركة مارث التي جرت في الليلة الفاصلة بين 20 و21 مارس 1943 بين الجيش البريطاني وقوات المحور كما سيطلع رواد متحف الذاكرة المشتركة التونسية الجزائرية بغار الدماء على مجموعة ثرية من الوثائق الارشيفية والصور والخرائط التي تخلد الدعم التونسي للثورة الجزائرية منذ اندلاعها في غرة نوفمبر 1954 الى غاية 5 جويلية 1962 تاريخ استقلال الجزائر وسيكتشف الزائرون كذلك خصوصية موقع تركيز هذا المتحف من خلال بنايات احتضنت سابقا مقر القيادة العامة لجيش التحرير الوطني الجزائري خلال حرب الجزائر.
وستتيح هذه المتاحف الثلاثة لزائريها فرصة اكتشاف التاريخ النضالي للجندي التونسي وتضحياته في خدمة الوطن وقضاياه العادلة علما أنه سيتم قريبا تركيز متحف أخر بموقع روضة الشهداء ببنزرت ومن المنتظر أن يوثق هذا المتحف أحداث معركة بنزرت التي جرت في جويلية 1961.
