. . . .
Wasn't that ISPR Guy honking on about how this fence was installed with the blood and sweat of Jawans, and that it can NEVER be removed??? Where is he today?? Any more speeches for the idiotic awam Mr ISPR??

Border fencing is just part of the game. we just can not have a couple of soldiers after every 50 meters, its just not practical. Army is rightfully considering various options for a border management system. This needs to be expedited and a contract signed.
I personally believe we need small-sized drones with small dia bombs or with guns that can deter if not decimate the incoming illegal trespassers. For that to happen you would also need high zoom cameras and thermal cameras installed at the most probable places for crossing and at every fort, and at strategic location.

The crossings can not be stopped altogether and can only be deterred and made difficult for both Pakistani and afghan ppl. Just to give you an example...How will you stop smuggling and trespassing when the other party comes to the fence with a crane on wheels and delivers the goods/personnel to ur side while standing 5 to 10 feet inside afghan territory.. for the record, its not a made-up story.

In the light of this recent attack, the relevance of OP has increased further. We need to be proactive about creating a safe Afghanistan through annexation. People talking about digging trenches and constructing fences need to answer the question: where is this trench and how is the fence faring now? Do you even have an estimate of when this dream project will be accomplished? We need to come out of this collective ostrich mentality.

We can learn from the Vietnamese and the Soviets. All this has been done before in Vietnam and Afghanistan.

Bettys:
Mining a 10m wide strip inside Pakistan with butterfly bomblets and "bouncing bettys" is one option. 10m is the usual boom length of a small hydraulic positioning crane,
The "bettys" are cheap, they only injure and don't kill which makes them valuable for taking prisoners. Additionally the "bettys" can also be rigged to sense magnetic anomalies which the steel structure of the crane would trigger.

Punji traps;

The Vietnamese used Punji traps placed along the paths. The Punji traps are very cheap and extremely effective. They are not intended to kill but injure severely and disable, Unlike the Bettys they cannot be detected with metal detectors though a dog can sniff them out .
The "trap zone " would be the 10m strip or the intermediate space.
There might be a problem procuring the ultra hard bamboo wood used to make Punji traps but these could be imported. Buried under the snow these would be effective. The best thing about Punjis is that even if the person gets away he is likely to be disabled or loose a limb from gangrene and amputation.

Imagine in a place where while they were crossing a missile would hit them, the kind of fear that would put into their hearts. Right now they have the time to take selfies and laugh and spew at our face. Pathetic!

. . .

Oh well more terrorist c0cksuckers through into Pakistan to kill normal people, army personal, tribal elders or all the mentioned three.
Just unbelievable......

The CH4's should be in the air 24 hours a day, and a missile should be heading straight to these savages once they even touch the fence.
A fence is useless without the ability of round the clock surveillance and firepower to neutralise targets which cross over.
we should kill and feed them to dogs .

Dogs don't deserve such a horrible fate bro. Kwarij meat is even spat out by them. I say leave their bodies in the open where the vultures, wild boar and insects can feed on them.
