The Trumpster may be a joke, but he is a joke because he is essentially unsophisticated, refused to be refined, and resistant to be controlled, not because he is stupid. Personally, I do not like Trump even as a person, let alone as a man, even before he ran for president, and when he was in the running, my disgust for him grew even more. I will admit that I have not done homework research on this, so I maybe wrong, but right now, it looks like the US may very well be the first UN member to be openly mocked at. But he is smart enough to know that once he stepped out of the UN building, he answers to the American people and their approval is more important to him than any approval from foreigners. I don't like Trump at all. I think his behavior is just outright puerile. Nevertheless, one can dislike the man but agree with some of his policies. He's the first president who's vigorously pursuing US interests, especially in areas of trade and defense. This is deep contrast with Obama, who was more keen on being liked than actually pursuing US interests. And he was definitely liked -- even won a Nobel Prize -- but he wasn't respected. In fact, he was considered a pushover.
