I appreciate this act of trump..muslims or muslim countries are known for their violations of human rights..they have least tolerance or respect for other religions....you cant expect your religion to be treated with respect while ypu spew venom against others.

Such events or such functions at White House are for American Muslims not for Muslim Countries.

Trump not hosting Iftar party at White House does not bother or effect any Muslim country.

Best policy will be to keep religion out of WH because there are too many of them.

Here in Pakistan the American Consulates arrange such Iftar parties for local media persons and others which is a way to interact and have good PR also at the same time they get some insight viz a viz the general mood about American policies as well as polishing American image among the masses through selected opinion makers invited to such parties.

Trump administration is only adding to narrow views about Americans.

In my personal opinion the Americans should often invite those people from different fields who have some kind of anti-US sentiments so that they could have a chance to listen to and understand the other side of the arguments and opinions. Only then they can develop a balanced view about America. If you entertain only those who are Pro-US and sing all well songs in praise of US then it is not a success. You need to soften the views of anti-US masses through such PR events and interactions.

US is spending millions even on development work in many Muslim countries but all this is wasted due to few bad PR steps.

Yup. I can only speak for Pakistan but.

Nawaz Sharif (Current PM) celebrates Christmas with Christian Community.

I dont know what grinding means. My party was never sucessful on the traditional working class areas around Milano. Now we won the regional seats there. Its the first time since 1947 that a far right won all those socialist areas. Of course i keep grinding. I got a position at our local city youth council. This means 550 € additional free income each month. Its a good start

It can be argued that the US was founded on the principles and values of Enlightenment.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
Two of the founding fathers were deists and four of them Deistic Christians and the constitution which is the possibly the best work of their life and one of the greatest documents on this planet is pretty non-religious.

Actually, that is not quite what he said.

You don't want a tolerant Italy just because of a certain religious group, fine. Best to get your tanks and troops out of Muslim Afghanistan, no? It does look strange. But we live in strange times and who cares anyway when I'm in a sweet spot right?
