Trump cracks down on Pakistan, U.S. cuts military training programs

From US, the message is very sound and clear
if you are not inclined to "Put you own house in order"
(something civilians always vouched for, the basis of the dawn leaks)
There is punishments.
We will be pushed from Grey to Black list at FATF
IMF Loan acquisition will be more difficult if not impossible.
Trump Administration is making sure Pakistan will be treated like an enemy, nothing more, nothing less.

The problem is.....The "people" who understands all this and can act are pretending as deaf but creating s-storm from the "people" who need to be silent at this very moment.

The message from Pakistan is also clear. Mutually beneficial relationship. If not, fvck off and keep crying to do more.

Nawaz Sharif's era of appeasment and backstabbing is over.

. .
Irrelevant really. Pakistan got its own state of art military institutions like staff college Queeta. This was really about PR and nothing else. Funny though how Americans reacted days after Pakistan and Russia signed a training agreement between the two forces. Throwing tantrums like spoil brats.

In longer run, it will be great. We won't have "babbus" and brown shahibs in military decision making levels.

. .
This makes no sense

All the U.S programmes were , was a system of brain washing for Pakistan military and officers

For ages these programmes were reviled for possibly setting up pro American officers within our military

And they cut it?????????
:cheesy::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::cheesy:

Thank fvuk its ended!

Kiyani was one of them. Makes you wonder why he couldn't see all his time in office which was obvious to the rest of the nation. What worries me, the incumbent ISI cheif is also a graduate from these American programmes.

Its such a massive threat, sure we get technical training but we have arrangements with numerous militaries across the world

None of them is as big a threat as the U.S

Keeping our young officers out of American influence or clutches is a MASSIVE PLUS

lets take this for the benefit it is

If USA can have relations with every country, why can't we?
This is unjust. But nevertheless, USA and Pakistan have been great allies, why not now. Lets not take it too far.

Pakistan fought the Soviets for the USA but now has dumped USA in favour of Russia.

We are not dumping anybody for anybody. Its just taking few steps for our own country. If somebody is pissed off then be assured that that somebody will loose more and more.
But Pakistan has always favored USA, even when USA was training her troops to take over our nuclear facilities.
We our always here to help.

We screwed the Soviets because they were a threat to us

Now interests of both Russia and Pakistan are more aligned

Pakistan has spent a long time trying to create a more sensible approach to international relations

it's a real blessing from allah.

No!

Just something that benefits us more then hurts us

Does Americans know how to speak in a tone other understand ....

plz try to understand relationship could not be maintained unilaterally .... it has to be reciprocated by both sides.

Secondly this is not the first time they have withdrawn this facility and has put Pakistan again under the undeclared Pressler amendment, and for IMF package they have already shown their false reservations which mean Security relations has gone to zero, Economic relations are at nose dive, Political Environment is hostile for Pakistan so what interest is left there for Pakistan for which we should stay at US camp ....????

PAK-US relations were the relationship of convenience, now convenience is no more in this relationship there is no need to continue it unnecessarily.

Hi,

The US does not need to speak in a kind and gentler manner---. It chooses the tone that it seems befits the occassion---.

Other nations need to learn how to communicate---.

Pakistan never maintained the relationship---that is what you young people don't understand---.

Yes but this approach had a downside as well. Military to military relationship could work only to an extent and Pakistani generals thought that having good relations with the US military alone will be sufficient and did nothing to develop and establish relations with the senators on the Capital hill. Now even when the military to military relations were good, the US congress blocked every move. So a new reset on relations with the US isnt a bad thing.
I remember you use to point out the same flaw as well that our generals are not good sales men, this is the job of politicians. So now that the relations are almost non existing, i think here IK should take the lead and mistakes of the past needs not to be repeated. He is a capable civilian, i hope military lets him do his job and not interfere in these matters.

Hi,

I have not changed my stance---it is the pakistani politicians and public that needs to build the relationship---.

As for IK---he is too much of a " straight shooter " to build any meaningful relation with the US.

And why does the 'occasions' arise so often where US chose to speak in a tone for which America is known
Pakistan never maintained the relationship---that is what you young people don't understand---.
Same can be said for USA this is what USA need to understand.
