I have to admit among the non-Europeans Yellow race knows it best!!!!Hi,
Youngman---just because you have an olive branch---does not mean that you offer it to every one---.
You speak to them in the manner and tone they needed to be spoken at---.
The problem is---that you as a nation do not know how to speak to the americans---.
All you kids have is " pakistani rhetoric "---. If you want the americans to understand---then you learn to speak the language that the americans understand---.
Saddam did not know that language---he was destroyed---.
Its a mixed plate- as the US military personnel mentioned; this was a good way to build relationships which sometimes bear good fruit in situations we never hear about- including intel on TTP and in the past even Indian movement(remember, what the CIA wants is not always what the US Pentagon wants). The flipside is yes a lot of officers do get offered to be moles for the US intelligence services but that reflects on the character of that officer more than anything else.
Cut the supply line and re-open after applying $5bn per annum tarrif. They want military prescence in your back yard, make them pay for it.
This makes no sense
All the U.S programmes were , was a system of brain washing for Pakistan military and officers
For ages these programmes were reviled for possibly setting up pro American officers within our military
And they cut it?????????
Thank fvuk its ended!
Yes but this approach had a downside as well. Military to military relationship could work only to an extent and Pakistani generals thought that having good relations with the US military alone will be sufficient and did nothing to develop and establish relations with the senators on the Capital hill. Now even when the military to military relations were good, the US congress blocked every move. So a new reset on relations with the US isnt a bad thing.Hi,
Did you idiots think that america alone was making pakistan generals think of america in favorable terms---you dumb fcks---the pakistan military officers were doing the same thing with the american officers---building relationships to favor pakistan in the future---.
Does Americans know how to speak in a tone other understand ....The problem is---that you as a nation do not know how to speak to the americans---.
Its the End of Soft Power; very shortsighted. Even if they see Pakistan as becoming an enemy, they should remember to keep your friends close and your enemies closer. They are weaning foreign partners off of their dependence on the US and going it on their own.
The Donald just revived the Non-aligned movement.
Does Americans know how to speak in a tone other understand ....
plz try to understand relationship could not be maintained unilaterally .... it has to be reciprocated by both sides.
Secondly this is not the first time they have withdrawn this facility and has put Pakistan again under the undeclared Pressler amendment, and for IMF package they have already shown their false reservations which mean Security relations has gone to zero, Economic relations are at nose dive, Political Environment is hostile for Pakistan so what interest is left there for Pakistan for which we should stay at US camp ....????
PAK-US relations were the relationship of convenience, now convenience is no more in this relationship there is no need to continue it unnecessarily.
Imran Khan is not a magic pill to cure all our ills.Imran Khan extending an olive branch.
Our mistake was not to institutionalise Pak-US relationship same can be said for the US who was more interested in individuals than institutions. Neither of us focused the core national interests rather focused more on transitional and temporary interests and objectives. How can one continue to be blackmailed by one side and cower to even utter a word? What difference would this be between a Nawaz Sharif government and a PTI government?
their concerns are not illogical US can hurt us more to the extent of unbearable level. The Americans are already hurting Pakistan.

US relationships with our defence forces was the only Institutionalise relations which now will be lost.

My stance is IF they decide to Punish us its better for us rather to waste time on US try other means.
I would differ with just this point ....We made the mistake of participating in US Cold War Jihad against the Russians.
I would differ with just this point ....
we may have detail discussion about it some other time .... but would say one thing we were never ally even at that time which is evident by the different goals both of the countries were perusing other than Afghan warWe may have had our reasons for partnering up with the Americans do deter the Russians from advancing, but we should have done this in our own capacity. By choosing the American side we become their ally. Once you become a US ally this is what happens to a country.
Hi,
Under what illusion the pakistanis living in---only they know---.
Pakistan is weakest financially at this time---any sanctions---retaliation from the US would have terrible consequences---.
IK's olive branch means nothing to the US---. What could it mean----come one guys---.
