You can also stand by Pakistan local brand... even though they are mostly re-brands...At least money goes into Pakistani pockets and they could in the future reinvest to make it more "Homemade" via R&D...

I still have a bias for made in japan products, even though modern made in japan products don't look fancy like amercian, korean or chinese products. I have bought Toshiba laptop two times and made my brother also buy Toshiba laptop even though it looks very ordinary but I found them very durable, my last Toshiba laptop which I bough for 600 euros lasted for 7 years without any problem, my brothers Toshiba laptop which he brought for 550 euros also lasted for 7 years without a single problem. Similarly in 80s we used to have Hitachi black and white TV which lasted for ever without any problem.

Nowadays most of consumer grade electronic like smartphones/TV etc... are similar in Quality, Japanese or not.
I was thinking more specialized Equipements... Drills; Pumps and such.

Yes you are right, now the distinction is over because all these sony, toshiba, philips, apple get their chips manufactured in the same fabs in taiwan, china, singapore etc. It is a joke now, these branded companies are just assemblers now. But until 80s and 90s , companies used to have their own main production facilities, now everything is outsourced.

USA use Samsung and apple for their intelligence..Huawei dont give them excess to people's personal info..this fight is all about excess to info..many of them who are proud of their apple and Samsung devices they may already compromise their personal info to USA intelligence.
