Tribals lynch 3 Maoists in Vizag

CHINTAPALLI (Visakhapatnam): In what is perhaps the first incidence of tribals killing Maoists in the history of the naxalite movement in Andhra Pradesh, a group of irate tribals lynched three extremists, including a district committee member (DCM), after the Reds killed one of their fellow villagers, Gemmeli Sanjeeva Rao, at Veeravaram village in Chintapalli mandal on Sunday night.

While there have been incidents of tribals attacking Naxalites due to the latter's 'atrocities', this is the first time that they killed naxalites. The dead Maoists were identified as DCM Sindri China Ranga Rao alias Sarat of Kannavaram village in Visakha agency and Palasa Gangapati of Sabbapalli and Korra Nageswara Rao of Gillebanda, both members of militia squad.

According to sources, on Sunday night a group of 30 to 40 Maoists came to Veeravaram village to kill Sanjeeva Rao, a former naxalite and his friend Satyanarayana alias Simhachalam. Maoists suspected them of being police informants.

A group of 10 naxalites caught hold of Sanjeeva Rao and Simhachalam when they were returning to Boddalaveedhi and killed Rao incurring the wrath of the villagers. The villagers attacked the naxalites killing three of them on the spot.
Simhachalam had been organising religious programmes in villages and was respected by the villagers. But the Maoists suspected him and Sanjeeva Rao of being police informants.

A group of 10 naxalites led by district committee members Sarat and Anand entered Veeravaram while their other colleagues waited outside the village. The Maoists caught hold of Sanjeeva Rao and Simhachalam when they were returning to Boddalaveedhi and announced that they were killing them for "acting as police informants." The villagers pleaded with the rebels not to harm Sanjeeva Rao and Simhachalam. However, when the Maoists went ahead and killed Sanjeeva Rao, an angry mob of nearly 400-500 villagers set upon the naxalites.

Despite the attempts of the Maoists to chase away the tribals by firing at them, one of the villagers hit Sarat on his head with a bamboo stick killing him on the spot. The mob then reportedly attacked the others in the group and killed two more Maoists, even as the rest of the naxalites, including DCM Anand, fled the village.

Visakhapatnam rural SP Koya Praveen and other officers involved in anti-Maoist operations rushed to Chintapalli and deployed security personnel to monitor the situation, sources said.

A similar thing happened in my village where about 8 Naxals and their sympathizers were killed. The Naxals held the grudge and under the guise of negotiations of having the legal proceedings quashed, they killed11 villagers. Good thing that happened after that was "combing operations" were done and we are Naxal free.

I used to support Naxals but it seems their movement has been corrupted and is nothing to its original purpose! I say time to get the US State Dept to ban it.

In the coming years when we need to free the trapped resources in the Red Zone, they will see military operations like never seen before. As for those supporting them, they will receive a befitting response. Just wait and watch the game.

Actually even in the so called red zone, the Naxals have a mild say. They don't run anything there. They can disrupt occationally and that's all the power they wield.

But mining there is a pain in the a$$ for legitimate companies as they have to pay 'tax' to these terrorists and the state governments are too ill-equipped to fight them.

CRPF has also been limited from carrying out frontal assaults against them and using artillery to pound their strongholds.

Naxalite movement is a threat to India's development and peace. They started with a noble cause in the 70s-80s time but now they are nothing more than LeT and Al Qaeda.

happens all the time. alll the time. its just that it is not publicised for maoist repurcussions.

an illegal body acts illegally.

to every indian, naxalism isn't a military problem and even RIGHTFULL military action is the LASTT, I repeat, LAST resort. making 10 new cities with opportunities is the right solution to maoist problem. govt had forgotten them. that is the ONLY lesson we can take of this problem. TO NOT FORGET IT'S PEOPLE. Rest as they say, shall flow like The Ganges..

Power corrupts.

Power corrupts.

Not really.

It is the person's integrity which simply shows when they have power. Sardar Patel was technically the most powerful man below Nehru. From what I have researched about him, he remained true to his character and selfless till the last day of his life. PM Lal Bahadur Shastri was a truly selfless leader who led India in her true spirit. Our current PM NaMo had absolute power in Gujarat for 14 years non-stop. Still he remains as he was before he got any power.

So technically, Naxalites were always evil (at least hteir top leaders were). They just thought they could get away with anything.

ever the slave of usa government, yes??

oh yes... grand developments like khap panchayats, more honor killing, dogs killing people ( another happened in bangalore yesterday ), declaring ladies as witches, the failure indian software companies, and of course... india being declared as "suicide capital of the world"...

i say, the maoists must take direct action in the cities and towns now... just like how revolutionaries in greece have been doing since 2013... they must wage war in the cities...

viva socialism.

So Maoists will improve Indian software, and also make dogs behave? WTF are you on about?

The legends you mentioned are always kept their mother land above than anything else.
But Naxalites are dark power. That is also a power that can easily corrupts.LTTE met their fate because of the absolute control of Prabhakaran causing attrition of promised commanders like Col Karuna .Power corrupts Prabhakaran.

Naxals might have started good, earlier for the rights of the poor but now it has escalated into terrorism, forced participation, abduction and every other crime known to man. Heck now when the government actually wants to help the farmers they terrorize them and scare them with retribution should they accept the government's help.
And why should they, all their revenue that is coming from robbery and smuggling will be stopped if they go back to farming.
They are really just power hungry terrorists and don't care zilch about the very people they were supposedly fighting for.
Vermin as they are, they should be wiped off the face of the earth.
Full scale military intervention should be carried out on their worthless asses.

socialists will eradicate dogs... as for computing, the jamahiriya socialist movement has its own microprocessor and operating system project... this i have said in this forum quite a few times... not china not india have their own microprocessor and operating system design...

Indeed, whilst not actually having control of these areas they can make extracting the resources and developing the areas troublesome and will end up escalating the costs of the entities involved which needs to be avoided as India desperately needs the resources in that part of the country for the good of all Indians.
