Traffic Problem in Pakistan

.
My first car in Germany costed me 1100 Euros while cost of Driving licence at that time was about 1500 Euro.
You have to take mandatory long theory and practical classes (I don't remember now how much hours in complete).

Then comes theoretical exam and after passing that there is practical exam.
Now compare that with Pakistan, that's why people in Pakistan have no traffic sense. It's not right that Pakistan has more cars per area than Germany.

It's 100% governmental duty to implement traffic laws. I don't think Pakistan's traffic police has itself any awareness of traffic rules, there are just master of bribes .

The issues aren't totally the culture of drivers/riders.

Lahore, Multan, Karachi have been towns built centuries ago. As the towns grew to cities, under the brits, there was a since of urban planning. Look at pictures from that time.

But as the population swelled, industrialization, economic growth/opportunities, credit/capital, government policies, among others there was a total break down between cooperation among the gears.

People encroached on public property, urban planners failed to take into account the growing population & the corresponding economic growth, and neither did these cities now metropoles recognize the future where there would be 4 lanes for cars/motorcycles/rickshaws.

Ohf and the culture of the driver/riders doesn't help the situation.

I'm a woman and I drive but I don't understand why some of the men want to scare me or disparage me from driving.
People here also need to accept that woman can drive nd there's no reason to scare them from driving.

If its scary for you than its scary for all.

People in Pakistan know didly about traffic signs and yet they are driving.
On Pakistani roads there are more billboards branding Indian actors, rather than guiding traffic.
Most of the roads, don't have lanes painted... how such roads can ever be fit for driving?
Its all because in Pakistan all is ruined in pursuit of democrazy.

That's just a stupid mindset that can only change over time by properly educating the masses.

As for the rest of the traffic problems...a lot can improve still if the traffic lights start working in sync...they can be hooked up to a traffic control system that can optimize the best solution based on different traffic flows. The video below shows one such system known as adaptive control

Such a system would cost a decent amount of money to install sensors and other such things but on the other hand it would reduce the need for more roads to be built, which costs significantly more.

...and of course it would help if the ppl followed the laws too.

Active policing, is a must too.

I was even taunted by a traffic police. :(
Was in traffic on the day of 14th August nd u can imagine the traffic situation on that day , I was slow nd very cautious nd a traffic police scolded me and talked with very bad behaviour . I was only being cautious .. but he was being very rude .
And then some boys on a motorbike .. they started to do that -hooo -hoo pathetic shouting in that terrible crowd when I was scolded by that traffic police . Some even try to overtake unnecessarily only to scare me .. .

bloody hell 1100 euros But i thinks it cost about the same here as well you have to take driving lessons from a qualified instructor and each charges different rates. Cost of theory and practical test are separate.

in Pakistan they dont have sense let alone driving sense. Motorbikes are the worst feel like kicking them they maneuver without due care.

No motorbikes in Europe ?

Dont know about europe. in Britain you cant ride a heavy bike until you are 25 that is anything over 250cc I think. You have to have a lessons from a qualified instructor which can cost over a grand(£1000) Then you have to purchase special clothing as well including Helmet.

People who ride bikes are qualified and unfortunately unlike Pakistan have good common sense to manuver without getting in your way.
