To feed UAE, India plans special farms and infrastructure, for export

. .
Shouldn't India be feeding its own people first?
India is producing enough farm products for local population, where it lacks is in not having built enough cold storage, warehouse with proper infrastructure. But that is off topic. Hopefully thread will not be derailed now onwards. Thank you.

Snowlake,

The problem with poor countries like India is not that they dont grow enuff food as you seem to think or a lack of infra as RS insinuates, the biggest issue is the poor cant afford to buy adequate nutritious food. It is essentially an income (and by extension an employment) problem rather than a suppy or distribution one.

Why india, why please feed your own poor people before you take care others idiots

Interesting concept.

Food security for UAE in exchange for Oil Security for India.

UAE has already bought acres of farmland in Pakistan over the years. One such report from 2008:

Saudi Arab and Qatar also outsources some of their food needs to Pakistan.

I recall reports that circulated the net a year or 2 ago. However, nothing concrete emerged. There even was a report of Saudi Arabia leasing 100k Acres of fertile farmland in Punjab for 99 years. I think more so wishful thinking than factual outcome.

They have bought some land near Multan. I am not updated about the current status though like farming has really initiated or not yet.

I agree. It's the same in every poor country.

actually the easiest thing in the agricultural industry is to export . The problem with india is not that it produces less, actually it is a food surplus country. The problem is that distribution systems are problematic
